Trigger warning! This chapter mainly focuses on the outing of Ev and Drew. I know it's an uncomfortable topic, so proceed with caution. (This was updated on 2/10/2025, and this comment will be taken out in a few weeks)

I was taking everything slow after Ev had left. I happened to be off that day and just wanted peace and quiet to go over game tapes and make new plays for Preston to reject out of spitefulness.
It was late when Stephanie called me in panic mode. My mind immediately went to the worst places. I would later realize that's how Ev felt when Lily had called him and that I never wanted to feel like that again.
"Have you been on your phone lately?" She questioned urgently.
"Only to pick up your call, why? Is there something I should-"
"No! Don't look at anything. Don't read any messages unless it's from me or Ev. You shouldn't look at anything online right now."
Fear leeched its way into my voice, "Steph, what's going on? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine physically, mentally a bit of a mess, but we can talk about that later. Where are you right now?"
"I was about to head to Ev's place. He invited me over this morning."
"We're going to talk about why he was in your apartment on your day off later, but right now, go to his place. If you see a single camera or anyone asks you a question, the answer is talk to Stephanie Wright."
"Seriously Steph what's going on, you're making me nervous."
"It's not my place to say. Ev is probably on his way to you or to his place then to you. Either way, tell him you're coming and he'll explain."
I drove so fast I probably broke every speed limit but I needed to know what was going on.
Banging on Ev's door, Lily who was looking worse for wear (the withdrawal had probably set in early that morning).
"He's having a meltdown in his room." She told me without waiting for a question.
My coat was barely off when I went to his room and saw Ev sitting on his bed with two laptops, a tablet and a cell phone all shut off.
The walls were white and there were three abstract black and white canvases making one portrait above the bed. To the left of the room was a large wall made almost entirely of windows. Each glass pane had a black rectangle around it framing the wall and casting lined shadows over the dimly lit room. There was also a glass desk with a black chair to the left taking up one corner of the room. On the right side were two doors, most likely a closet and a bathroom.
The lights were limited to two lamps on each bed stand but I could see he was pale. He was sitting with his back to the headboard and his arms around his legs. At that moment, I started to grasp what was happening.
"Louis Stone finally figured the whole story out?" I asked and pulled my coat completely off.
The only answer I got was a nod.
"Was it people from high school or family?"
"Both." He mumbled.
"Your dad?"
Nod.
He was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie again and seemed to be curving in on himself. I pushed the devices out the way and sat in front of him. He refused to catch my gaze and looked out the open window.
