Brayden wasn't getting better and we needed more man power. I got up and sprinted to the house and up to Jacobs office. I quickly looked in his contact book and dialed the only name that stood out to me: Hercules.
He answered on the third ring with ,"alpha Hercules." My voice cracked as I whimpered out, "Hercules.." "Vanessa, what's wrong," his voice sounded on edge. "Were under attack, the rogues have banded together and they are here, trying to slaughter my people. Please," I whimpered. "See you in 25 minutes tops, Linda, me and my men are coming," was all I heard before the line went silent. Quickly, I ran to my room and threw on some spandex and a black shirt and grabbed a bunch of other clothes for the men and woman outside. I ran downstairs only to find a rogue at the door with a malicious smirk on his face.
"Get. Out." I growled through clenched teeth. He chuckled and said, "oh but why would I leave now? When I finally stumble upon what I'm here for?" I let out a throaty growl and said, "what do you want with me? With my pack?"
He shook his head and said, "your pack could die off right now and I wouldn't shed the slightest care. But you, we want you. You're Alpha Jacobs And another alphas weakness. Killing you would be like killing two birds with one stone... Well 3 to be technical." I tried to survey my surroundings. My only weapons were the fireplace tools across the livingroom or the vase on the table to my right.
The rogue seemed to notice my uneasiness as he advanced towards me. I gripped the vase and slammed it into his skull, it crushed into hundreds of little pieces. "Stay away from me," I barked. The rogue clutched the side of his head that was now imbedded with shards of glass. I ran across the livingroom to the fireplace tools, grabbing the sharpest one.
The rogue let out a malicious growl as he slowly advanced towards me. He smirked and said, "now what is the luna going to do with that?" I grinned the handle tightly as I barked out, "I advise you to leave my packs territory, or you will regret it." He stepped closer and I didn't hesitate.
I dug the sharp end of the tool through his chest and twisted it. His eyes rolled back into his head as he let out a few gurgles and blood began to form out of the corner of his mouth. He looked in my eyes as they seemed to glaze over. "They will take you," he whispered before his body slumped lifelessly onto the floor.
I backed away from the body, all I could see was his blood. It leaked out into a puddle underneath him on my living room floor. I heard a growl from the door. My head sprung up to see a rogue she wolf glaring at me.
She looked at the lifeless rogue on the floor and let out a fierce battle cry. Obviously, the rogue was her mate. I braced myself as she phased and ran towards me. I ,immediately, phased and let her come to me.
I didn't want to kill her, but I would. She turned into me and I used my shoulder to toss her to the side. She flipped over but pounced right back up. She was hell bent on revenge for her mate. But I wouldn't , I couldn't let her win.
She sprung at me and I dodged her huge form by throwing mine to the right. I jumped up and turned to charge her just as she did. We collided and fell on the floor, rolling in a heap of fur. I thought I could manage to clamp her neck but just as I went for it, she bit deep into my front leg. I whimpered and tried to fight her off.
She was ripped away from me and I heard the gruesome sound of her neck being cracked. And there stood Hercules over her dead form. I ran down the hall and into my room to throw on more clothes.
Almost as quickly as I got dressed, Hercules flashed in the room. "Are you alright? What did they do," he inspected me. "I'm fine," was all I could get out before he lifted me up like a baby. "You're leg, it's bleeding profusely, we need to get you to a doctor," he ordered. And just as he said it, the sting of the air on my open wound hit me.
I winced, but grimaced to cover the pain. "I'm fine, Hercules. My pack... Jacob... They need help," I said, panicking. "My men are outside assisting your pack, things will be over soon, Linda," he said, as his hand reached out and took mine, in a comforting way. And once again, those faint off tingles rushed to my skin that he touched.
My eyes widened and he whispered, "don't be afraid." I was afraid. What the hell was going on? Inside of me, my wolf felt the same because all I could hear was her whimpers. "Vanessa, I promise to always be here for you, as a confidant, protector ..... But most importantly a friend," Hercules said.
I pulled my hand away and said, "I appreciate you coming here, but now is not the time to speak on feelings. My pack is out there, some of them slaughtered!" He looked taken back by my sudden anger. But what does he expect? Why does it tingle when he touches me? Why does he do anything for me? He's not my mate.
And with that I ran out of my house and to find my mate.
A/n- just a quick little update :)
