Chapter 7

Jacob and I got out of bed that morning and I swear I was the happiest I've ever been. I stared at my mates neck. The mark had healed and now all that was left was the tattoo from my bite. It was his wolf and mine, nuzzling our noses together. His wolf was huge and pitch black with white ears and paws. My wolf was creme with white ears .

He seen me staring and said, "it's beautiful, isn't it?" I blushed and nodded, feeling my own mark. I was so proud to be his mate. "Let's go downstairs and eat," Jacob smiled and took my hand as we went downstairs. Everyone was in the kitchen and when we walked in they turned and stared at us.

"So, Vanessa, word on the block is you've been a bad girl, defying the alpha," Matthew mocked. I blushed and covered my face with a groan. "Mr. Alpha had to punish you," Eric winked.

"That's enough! Do not speak of what me and my mate do in OUR house," Jacob used his alpha voice. They all bowed their heads and said, "yes alpha." I grinned and said, "who's afraid of mr. Alpha now?" They all glared at me and then we laughed together.

Jacobs phone started to go off and he answered. His face turned from happy to angry. He started to look around, scanning our surroundings. "Okay, get your warriors stationed, mine will be stationed in two minutes tops," Jacob said, gruffly before ending the call, "Brayden, Matthew, Eric, mind link the others, there's a pack of rogues who crossed into our land." We were confused. "What do you mean a pack of rogues? Rogues can't be in a pack that's why they are rogues," I stated. He shook his head and said, "the rogues have banded together, because they are now after something. Something they won't get." "What are they after Jacob," I asked him. I needed to know, I was Luna of this pack after all. "You," he said and his body started to shake, "and your cousins, they are after the last standing woman of your bloodline." I froze and immediately pulled my cousins to me. Lilia and samarah were now in danger being here, and it was my fault for inviting them. Brayden was right next to samarah, growling.

Jacob pulled me to his chest and I wrapped my arms around him. "How many are there," I whispered to him. I could see the worry in his eyes as he answered, "150. But they are deprecated into two groups." My heart thudded, quickly in my chest. My blood rushed from my face. "Don't worry, my love. We will protect you. So will the Noon Moon pack, they are already stationed. And as we speak our fighters are getting into route to battle." "I want to fight too," I growled, my luna taking over, wanting to be there to help her pack. "NO," Jacob growled, holding me closer, "I will not risk you getting hurt, Vanessa. Please." I shook my head and said, "but this is my pack too! And the stupid rogues want me! I can fight Jacob, you know I can." Eric stood up and said, "with all do respect, luna, alpha is right. We cannot risk you getting hurt or taken. We need you to stay ." I growled at how he was ordering me but felt warmed that he cared about me that much.

"You, lilia and samarah will go to the pack house. You will stay there and help protect the pack children," Jacob said and I accepted defeat and nodded. Quickly, I grabbed a few pairs of my clothes and Jacobs, along with a bag of good and we ran to the pack house. Woman were hustling inside, boarding up all the exits but the front door.

A little girl seen us and she ran to me. "Luna , Luna, I'm scaaaaed!" She couldn't pronounce her W's but she couldn't of been no more than 4. I lifted her in my arms and said, "it's okay, my little one, alpha and our pack are strong, and we will all protect you." "But mommy and daddy are gone to baatttle," she shuddered on the last word. "Your parents are strong and they love you so much, you are their little warrior too, so you have to be strong for them. Can you do that, beautiful? Can you be strong for your mommy and daddy," I asked her. She nodded, wiping her tears and puffing out her chest.

I looked at Jacob who was staring at me with such love and admiration in his eyes. That had my wolf howling with joy. "Vanessa, we have to go. As soon as we leave, start boarding up the front door. Don't let anyone in. Once this is over, we will come and break down the back door," he said and pulled me to him. I jumped in his arms and kissed him with passion. "I love you Jacob, protect our pack," I whispered. "I love you my Luna, and I'll never let anything happen," Jacob said and placed me down, carefully. Him and the boys bolted out the door and me, lilia and samarah shut it and began boarding it up. We used huge pieces of plywood that were in a pile in the living room. Once we finished that we pushed a huge bookshelf in front of it. We took all the kids downstairs and through a secret passage under the house that lead to an underground bunker. Some of the other woman brought down bags of food as I did. The children were crying, all except the little girl I talked to. She was trying to soothe the other children and saying in her high pitched voice, "it's okaaaaaay, our mommies and daddies are potecting us! No cry, be stooong for them!" I smiled at her courage. She would be amazing in the pack for our future. The other children slowly calmed down as me and the other woman prepared some food for them in the little kitchen in the corner.

    The guys have been gone for a few hours now and I was worried. I mind linked Jacob 'babe? Are you alright?' But got no response in return. My stomach churned with worry. 'Jacob! What's going on,' I growled through the mind link. That idiot blocked the connection. Now I was freaking out.

    All the children were asleep across the couched and few little cots in the room. So I took the opportunity and started pacing. "Luna , are you alright," one of the older woman asked me. "I'm fine," I mumbled, not wanting to worry the other woman. Samarah walked up to me and whispered, "I can't hear Brayden, the mind link isn't working.." Her tone was desperate. She just found her mate and now it was like he was being ripped from her.

    Just then we heard a bang upstairs. Lilia, samarah, and I ran upstairs, locking the cellar doors behind us. We got into the house and the guys were home. I threw myself into Jacobs arms, tears welling up in my eyes. "It's alright, my love, were okay, we won," Jacob whispered, kissing me softly. "I was so worried about you guys, I tried to mind link you," I chocked back a sob.

    "I ordered everyone block out their mates for the fight, I'm sorry baby," he told me and I just nodded, kissing him. Samarah was tucked away in Brayden's arms as he whispered soothing words to her.

    Lilia was standing face to face with one of the warriors, adoration in her eyes. He looked like he was staring at a goddess. "Mate," they said in unison. Her mate was one of the head warriors, Benny. Benny was strong and a good choice for Lilia. He pulled her into his arms and she said, "I'm so glad you're home." My heart melted to see my cousins happy with their mates.

    I looked back at Jacob and pulled him up to our room. "What happened," I asked him. He sighed and said, "there was about 75 rogues in the clearing to the south of the territory and one quadrant of the Noon Moon pack came and assisted our group. It was hectic at first, but the rogues did not compare. They were sloppy and had no form, our packs took then out in ease. Alpha Chris from Noon Moon and his quadrant , along with two sections of our warriors took out the rest of the rogues to the north of our territory, we had no casualties babe. I'm so proud of our pack, they were so strong." I smiled, proudly. I seen the glow in his eyes, he felt proud to be their alpha. "You're an amazing alpha, my love, ofcourse our pack is destined for greatness," I smiled and kissed his lips.

    It's been a month since the rogue attack. Our pack and the Noon Moon pack kept our ties to each other. We even had a huge barbecue for both packs to intermingle. Turns out a lot of people found their mates and that made me extremely happy. All I want is for my pack to be happy and prosper.

    Jacob was away, training some pups to fight along with Brayden, Matthew, Eric, and Benny. Me, lilia, and samarah were in the living room watching movies together.

    Almost all at once, we clutched our stomachs. A burning sensation took over my body. I was in pain. Most the pain coming from my lower region. What was going on?

    An older woman from the pack walked in and said, "Luna, it is heat week. We need our men. They are the only ones who can relieve our pain. Please." I understood, completely.

    I mind linked Jacob, 'babe! Please come home!' 'Vanessa? What's wrong,' he asked me alarmed. I whined through the pack link as the pain grew to a higher extent. 'Ill be there soon,' he said. I quickly added, 'and tell all the men to go home to their mates, they need them.' He agreed and I ran upstairs to mine and Jacobs room. It was extremely hot.

    I changed into a lace black bra and underwear. I sprayed some of my perfume on and layed on the bed. Waiting for my mate to come and take me. I needed him, I wanted him.

    He burst through the door, the worry on his face turned to lust as he looked at me. "Jacob, I need you," I growled, seductively.
