First game

Stay calm, Sadie.

Stay calm.

I grab my necklace and wrap my fingers around it and shut my eyes. I wish you were still here Gigi. You were suppose to be here, not me...I miss you everyday but it's my turn to continue the legacy. It's what you guys wanted and I keep my promises.

"My dream school is Uconn" Gigi tells me and opens her laptop to show me the school. "I'm hoping to go there to play on the basketball team and hoping to go to the WNBA" I nod my head and watch her show me the website.

"Seems like a good school. You totally should go there" she smiles then she starts showing me a campus tour. She is dedicated to this school I can tell. "You should definitely come to this school with me and play basketball" I think about for a second.

"I won't be able to pay for it" she looks at me with a small pout. "Don't worry. My parents can pay for you" I sigh and shake my head. "I won't let them pay for this, Gigi" she waves me off and starts showing me the gym.

I hope I can play with her and go to Uconn but I doubt it. But it would be nice to keep playing the sport we both love with your best friend.

"Earth to Sadie" I snap out of it and quickly place my necklace back under my shirt. "We're starting" Morgan gives me a small smile and I nod and thank her and get up from my seat. "Come on. I think it's this way" she points to the right and we start walking but Azzi stops us. "It's this way guys" Azzi says passing us and I glare at Morgan and she just gives us a small laugh. 

"That's a nice necklace" Morgan tells me as we step onto the court and make our way to the bench. "Gold suits you" I give her a small smile and sit down to tie my shoes a little tighter. "You don't talk much do you?" Morgan ask sitting down next to me.

"You do all the talking for me" I tell her and give her a tight lip smile before getting up and grabbing a ball and start my warm up. Music started playing (from the Basketball Playlist) and KK and Paige start goofing off a little until Azzi told them to stop. 

I started mouthing out the song as I started shooting. I was kind of in my zone until I felt people staring at me hard core. I pass the ball to Ice and look around and see Vanessa, her daughters and my family except for Kate. 

I wave at them and rush to them. "Sadie!" Capri shouts and jumps into my arms. "Hey kid" she wraps her arms and legs around me and hugs me tight. "Hey guys" I move Capri to my hip so that I can hug the rest of the people who came here to watch the game. 

"Who did your hair? Looks nice" Jill says examining my hair that's been put into two braids then into a ponytail. "Oh, Kayla did it. She did Paige's hair too" I point to Paige who's doing a little dance. 

"That's Paige" they all nod and I set Capri down. "I should get going but I'll catch you after the game" I give them all hugs before running back to warm up. 

"I didn't know you knew Kobe's family" Allie whispers to me as I stretch next to her. "They're like second family to me" she nods her head and looks to my family to see them waving at us. Allie laughs and waves back at them as I roll my eyes. 

"Huddle up" Coach says and we put the balls away and go to our bench. The starting fives were sat on the bench while Coach started explaining our plays and all of that. 

After that, we did our cheer and the starting fives went out to the court and the rest of us sat down on the bench. Allie sat down on my right and Sarah on my left. 

We're playing Xavier and Azzi told us that it's going to be an easy win. She said it so politely that Paige had to step in and basically yell that we're going to beat them. Easily.
