"Aaannnddd... this!" Laurie exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she held out one of my dress ties, presenting it to me like a prize. I glanced at my best friend, who was perched on my bed, her enthusiasm infectious but also a little overwhelming. I looked down at the outfit she had meticulously assembled for me, the fabric of the tie contrasting with the other pieces in my hands.
I raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing her with a hint of skepticism. "You sure this is the last outfit?" I sighed, feeling a sense of defeat wash over me. "This is the fifth one, and we still have to drive to another state."
"Boohoo bitch it's only a two hour drive," she grumbled at me. "Trust me. This one will be perfect for the show. Just try it on!"
I let out a small chuckle at her enthusiasm, knowing deep down that I couldn't say no to her. With a reluctant nod, I took the tie from her hands, preparing to step into the chaos of wardrobe choices once again.
I pulled open the sliding barn doors of my walk-in closet, the familiar creak echoing in the quiet room as I flicked on the light. The warm glow illuminated the organized chaos of my wardrobe, and I set to work changing into the outfit Laurie had picked out for me.
As I slipped on each individual piece, I felt a rush of excitement. The dark grey low-rise jeans fitted snugly against my legs, yet baggy in nature, flaring out slightly at the bottom in a stylishly relaxed manner. I reached for the white cropped collared short sleeve shirt next, its fabric soft against my skin and just the right length to showcase the tattoos that adorned my arms. Finally, I grabbed the black dress tie, effortlessly tying it around my collar, the fabric adding a sharp contrast to the lighter tones of my shirt.
Once I was fully dressed, I stepped into view of my floor mirror, my heart skipping a beat at the reflection staring back at me. The combination of the plaid pants and cropped shirt created a playful yet polished look that I hadn't expected. My Doc Martens completed the outfit—classic and comfortable, a perfect nod to my street-style vibe while still feeling cute and put-together.
I took a moment to admire myself, a smile creeping onto my face as I thought, I look good.
Stepping out of my closet, I felt a bit sheepish as I prepared to reveal my outfit to Laurie. The moment she caught sight of me, her reaction was instantaneous. She let out an excited gasp, her hands clapping together in delight.
"Now that... is hot," she declared, her face lighting up with enthusiasm. A mischievous glint sparkled in her eyes, making me curious about her thoughts. "You're totally getting Juno'd tonight."
