Y/N's POV

I woke to a kiss.

Not one — but several, strung together like a trail of breadcrumbs leading me out of sleep. First to my forehead. Then one at my temple. Another on the ridge of my nose. By the time she got to my cheekbone, I groaned into the pillow, but that only made her laugh.

"Sabrina..." I mumbled.

"Good morning," she whispered, voice deep, her lips brushing against the edge of my jaw before peppering another to the corner of my mouth.

I cracked one eye open, and there she was: hair wild from sleep, grinning like she was plotting mischief, perched half on top of me in one of my shirts. Her curls fell across her shoulders, and the early morning light caught the golden strands like they were conspiring with her to make me weak.

"You're too happy for this hour," I muttered, pulling the blanket over my head.

She yanked it back immediately. "That's because I'm a morning person. You're my favorite night owl, but I swear, you'd sleep through Christmas if I let you."

"Maybe I should."

She gasped like I'd told her the worst thing imaginable. "No. You're not allowed to sleep when I want to kiss you. Those are the rules." She bent down, dotted kisses across my cheek again, whispering between them, "See? Wake up. Wake up. Wake up."

I caught her face between my palms. "You're ridiculous."

"And you're mine," she shot back instantly, eyes sparkling.

I laughed, tugging her down into a proper kiss, slow and lingering. She melted instantly, her weight settling over me like she was trying to mold herself into my shape.

When we parted, her smile softened. "God, you're cute in the morning. All sleepy and grumpy and—" she brushed her nose against mine—"completely helpless against me."

"You're impossible."

"Impossibly in love with you." She stretched out over me, sighing dramatically. "Now come downstairs with me. Everyone's probably waiting, and I want them to see how gorgeous you are when you've just woken up."

"Why would you want that?"

"Because then they'll know I win. Obviously."

I groaned, but the way she giggled against my chest made it impossible not to give in.

________

The house smelled like bacon and coffee as we padded down the creaking stairs, Sabrina clinging to my arm like she never intended to let go. Voices carried from the kitchen;  overlapping laughter, forks against plates, her mother's voice calling across the room.

The moment we stepped into the big kitchen, Elizabeth spotted us. "Well, look who finally joined us!" she said brightly, flipping something in a skillet.

"Good morning," I said, cheeks heating as all eyes landed on us.

"Morning," Cayla said around a mouthful of pancake.

Shannon leaned against the counter with her phone, smirking. "I was starting to think Sabrina had smothered you."

"She tried," I muttered, and Sabrina smacked my shoulder.

"Don't tell lies. I was being affectionate."

Sarah laughed from where she sat perched at the counter. "Sure, that's one word for it."
