Sabrina's POV

I woke up cold.
My eyes remained closed for a moment, but the absence of warmth beside me was unmistakable. Without thinking, I stretched my hand out to the right, groping blindly in search of her, my fingers brushing against the empty sheets. The soft, familiar curve of her body, usually nestled close to mine, was nowhere to be found. I felt the coldness of the mattress beneath my fingertips instead of the softness of her skin, the reassuring presence of her warmth that I had grown so used to.
Where is she?
My heart began to race, and an odd sense of panic surged within me. I jerked my body up from the bed, eyes snapping open as I frantically scanned the room. My gaze darted across every corner of the hotel room, moving in every direction as if somehow she might just appear, standing in the doorway or hiding behind the curtains. But no matter where I looked, there was no sign of her.
I was about to call out her name when my eyes fell on the coffee table beside me, barely visible from my position on the bed. A thermal mug sat next to a hotel notepad, the white paper cluttered with scribbled handwriting. A small rush of relief mixed with curiosity washed over me.
A smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I shifted onto my elbows, holding the comforter around my nude body while reaching out for the notepad. I picked it up carefully, the paper cool against my fingertips, and read the note that was written in a messy, yet familiar cursive. The blue ink of the pen stood out, the words so clearly meant for me.

Good morning beautiful,
I hope you slept well! I just went downstairs to the gym, I'll only be an hour or two. I also got you a cappuccino, it's in the thermal mug so it stays warm (you probably already knew that though)
I'll see you soon xx

I found myself gripping the handwritten note from her tighter than I meant to, as if I feared it would slip away and be lost forever. An uncontrollable grin spread across my face as my eyes traced her handwriting while butterflies fluttered wildly in my stomach.
She is so fucking cute.
I want this woman to be mine so badly it aches in a way I can't quite explain.
For a moment, I just sat there, grinning to myself, the thought of her swirling in my mind, before I slowly sat up. My fingers instinctively reached for my phone, and as I slid off its clear case, my thoughts wandered. With gentle care, I folded her handwritten note, making sure to keep the words "good morning beautiful" visible at the top. It was like a piece of her I could carry with me, and I tucked it carefully into the phone case, positioning it just right so her message faced outward. As I slid the case back onto my phone, I paused, admiring the sight of it for a moment.
A picture of us would fit perfectly here, but this will do for now.
Note to self: buy more film for the Polaroid.
I sighed, content, and leaned back into the soft, inviting pillows, their plushness cradling me. My hand reached for the thermal mug resting beside me, the cool metal against my palm quickly warming as I lifted it. I took a slow, deliberate sip of the cappuccino, savoring the rich, comforting flavor that danced on my tongue.
