The doctors did some tests on Pete, he had an anxiety attack, even if he was stable, they preferred to keep him in the hospital overnight for observation. Pete fell asleep while they treated some of the injuries he had from the fights that night, and Vegas felt a little more guilty for not realising that Pete had hurt his side.
He sat by his bedside, listening to his breathing, thinking about how scared he'd felt when Pete had passed out, he didn't even want to imagine how Pete had held up during the time he'd been in a coma... Thinking about that night, he really saw fear in Pete's eyes, and wondered if Pete was ready to forgive him... Maybe they had rushed their relationship too much and were going to face the consequences... Pete didn't trust him, that was for sure, and maybe he never would... Vegas laid his head in Pete's lap, put his arm around his waist and closed his eyes. It wasn't the most comfortable position, but he needed to feel Pete, and maybe this was his last chance, maybe Pete would break up with him when he woke up.

Pete woke up staring at the white ceiling, not recognising the room. He felt a pressure in his lap, when he looked up he saw Vegas sleeping in an uncomfortable position, he reached over and caressed his hair. Vegas moved his head to give Pete more access and opened his eyes. They looked at each other in silence for a few minutes, Pete didn't stop caressing Vegas at any point. "I'm sorry Vegas" "How are you feeling?" they both spoke at the same time. With a tired smile, Pete said, "I'm fine, tired but fine. Sorry Vegas... You...", Pete bit his lip, he didn't know if he still had the right to ask Vegas for anything or to even keep touching him. Vegas frowned, "Pete?" Pete sighed, but decided he wouldn't keep anything from Vegas, at least not consciously. "I..." Pete breathed again, "I was thinking you look uncomfortable there, but I don't know if I have the right to ask you to lie in bed with me or even if you'd want to..." Pete's voice faltered, sadness flooded his eyes. Vegas was surprise, and it broke his heart a little, "Pete, my love... Why would you think that? You have all the rights to me. Every single one of them, Pete, every," he leaned over Pete kissing his forehead, "Make room for me," Pete sighed in relief as Vegas lay down next to him hugging him, he moved as close to Vegas as he could, resting his head on his shoulder. Vegas kissed him on the head and began to stroke his arm, tracing irregular patterns. Pete played with Vegas's shirt, he didn't know where to start, he didn't really understand his reaction entirely but, he could figure out what had triggered it.

He sighed again, "I've never had an anxiety attack before... I've had some panic attacks, but it's not the same... I... I went back to when you were in a coma, to those days when I didn't know if you would wake up, if you would remember me or even if you would love me. Even if I wasn't sure of anything back then, it never made sense to me that you would love me, that you would want to share your life with me, or even that there was something about me that attracted you, that made you see me. Even now, I don't understand...", "Pete...", Vegas tried to speak, what Pete was saying was bullshit, how could he not love him if he was the best thing in his life, his problem was not knowing sooner, but Pete wouldn't let him, "No, I know you're going to say I do deserve it and those things but, we both know I don't deserve your love, I don't know what I've done to keep you by my side, but it's time for me to tell you something... I haven't kept from you... I preferred to keep it in a corner on my mind, and not think about it. Maybe this is the last chance to...", Vegas sighed, "Pete, I've told you before, I'm angry, or rather upset, nothing more. Our relationship isn't over, at least not for me. I don't want there to be any more secrets between us, but don't think, not for a second, that I'm going to stop loving you or that I'm going to walk away from you or that I want to break up with you, no, Pete. The only thing that could take me away from you would be my death, and even then, I would find a way to come back to you". Pete smiled, "Always so dramatic... I don't understand you, but I won't make you think about your reasons..." Vegas laughed, "Are you afraid I'll change my mind?", "Yes" Pete replied immediately.
"You shouldn't Pete. I nearly lost you twice, once when you went back to the Main family and once when you broke up with me. I won't live through a third, I won't," Vegas' tone was definitive, almost like an imposition, and although Pete should feel a little alarmed, that tone reassured him, much more than usual, "You're going to stay with me and give me a chance even if I don't deserve it?", Vegas sighed, "Pete, you've been irrational, nothing more, just because of that I'm not going to leave you or stop loving you. Besides, you were worried about me... And I guess you still don't trust me...", Pete raised his head, his look was still sad but with a bit of pain, "Vegas... I do trust you, most of the time at least. I know I don't quite, but I also know I'm going to get there. The problem is... I'm feeling insecure... I know I demand too much of you and I guess I'm waiting for you to realise I don't deserve you," Vegas moved his hand to Pete's cheek, cradling it, feeling the weight as Pete leaned his head into the hand, his Pete was so precious, he didn't understand why Pete didn't see how important and amazing he was. "Pete, my Pete... I don't know why you have these absurd ideas in your beautiful head, but I'll take them away from you little by little, my love," "Vegas...," Vegas leaned in and left a chaste kiss on Pete's lips, he sighed, relieved, just a gesture of affection from Vegas and his fears would melt away a little, "Now tell me what happened".
Pete sighed, "I went back to the time you were at hospital, Vegas. I... You...", Pete sighed, took a long breath of air and let it out slowly, he did it again a couple more times, Vegas didn't take his eyes off Pete, worried, looking for a sign to see if there was something wrong, finally Pete spoke again, "You almost died after the doctors saved your life. Your heart stopped once, they said it could be a result of the internal bleeding you had after the accident. But a few days later, your heart stopped again, and that didn't seem normal to me. The hospital belongs to the Main family, and Porsche had already been appointed the head of the Minor family, I didn't trust them, I talked to Nop and after some investigations, we found out that one of the doctors was not a doctor, someone from the Main family sent him to kill you. Of course I killed him." Pete was quiet for a moment, Vegas didn't say anything either. His uncle tried to kill him, it wasn't a surprise, but he understood that it would have been to Pete back then.
