"If you don't mind, I'd rather take you to the house with me. I know the doctors have said you're fine, but I'll be more at ease if I can have you close by. And Venice would be very happy to have you there, to have both of us there," Vegas never took his eyes off the road. Pete was looking at him, watching his knuckles turn white with tension, with the fear he had of his answer. Pete shook his head and smiled, reached out his hand to put it on Vegas' thigh and reassure him, "Sounds like a great idea. It's about time we spent time with our son as a family. But..." he said squeezing his hand a little, "You'll have to leave me some clothes and it would be nice if you could cook something for me, I'd feel better eating something really spicy." Vegas breathed a sigh of relief and laughed, "Anything you wish, my love," "Watch your mouth Vegas, I can take you at your word," Pete laughed as he leaned back in the seat and closed his eyes.

He was tired from spending the night in the hospital, but now that he had talked to Vegas, his heart was at ease. Finally, their story together was taking shape. They opened their hearts, something he didn't know they could do, both of them, not just Vegas, but him. He learned as a child not to trust anyone, as a bodyguard he learned that he was disposable and with Vegas... With old Vegas he learned to feel pain. With his Vegas he was learning to trust, to feel important and necessary, to be loved no matter what, that he could let his feelings out, he could cry, he could scream, he could love, he could make mistakes, and he would still be loved by his Vegas.

Pete opened his eyes and looked at Vegas, he moved the hand he had on his thigh to his face caressing it, leaving his hand on the back of Vegas's neck, "Thank you for loving me so much," he said in a whisper. Vegas took his hand and kissed the back of it, "Pete, loving you is the only thing that's right in this world. I wouldn't be worth living without," Pete raised an eyebrow and let out a laugh, "Vegas, stop being cheesy!!!", "Once again, it's your fault, my love."

Vegas' phone rang, "Khun Vegas, we have an unexpected visitor in the basement of the Devil. I think you might want to pay them a visit," "Who are they?" he asked with a frown, "Some friends of the ones who attacked the Sin," Pete shuddered in his seat, and Vegas put his hand on his thigh, giving it a light squeeze, he looked at him, "Do you want to come with me?", if Pete said no, he wasn't going either, those men could wait, but Pete nodded, grabbing Vegas' hand. "We'll be there in a few minutes, keep them comfortable," he said with a smirk, "Yes, Khun Vegas."

Vegas was concerned about Pete's silence, who said nothing since the call, just kept staring out the window... Pete's mind was far away from that car...

When they arrived, they went straight to the basement, three of Vegas' men were there with the guests. Night saw Pete and approached him, "Khun Pete, how are you doing? Are you ok? Is it safe for you to be out of the hospital? Do you want a chair? Moon, go get a chair for Khun Pete, hurry up!!!", Pete smiled at Night's antics, he was very fond of the bodyguard. Vegas smiled too, at first he didn't like Night, he thought he had a crush on his Pete, but over the months, he understood that he had admiration and respect for Pete, he wanted to be skilled like he was, and besides, he was happily married to a pretty girl and had two twins, so, all that together made Vegas relax... "Calm down, Night. The doctors said it was safe for my Pete to go home. Let's get this over with quickly so my Pete can go get some rest." Pete rolled his eyes, "You two are the same...", and sighed, "I'm fine, Night. Thank you so much for your concern." Before Night could say anything, Moon arrived, as soon as Vegas saw him, he grabbed Pete by the waist, "Come, my love. Sit down and rest while we have a nice chat with our guests," he said kissing Pete on the forehead. Pete sat down, knowing it was useless to tell Vegas he could stand. Vegas needed to take care of him, and Pete needed to feel taken care of by Vegas.
