Running away is easy, it's the leaving that's hard, they say. And they were right.
She felt alone in her own reference world now, since she couldn't tell anyone about the mirror dimension. It was over anyway, it's not like it mattered anymore. At least, she tried to convince herself of that.
For that, she tried catching up in her own reality, like calling Slurpee, cleaning the house again and checking up on her friends. Anything to distract herself and hopefully forget.
When she checked the letter box of the old Maggie's Muffin's, there she found a strange pastel purple envelope. Unsigned, without an address.
Inspecting it, she walked back inside the house to carefully open it, making sure not to rip the paper. Looking inside, she found colorful... bills?
Cash.
Cash?
CASH?!
She gasped. Her hands seemed to have gained their own consciousness as they pulled the money out almost automatically. Her widened with each 100$ bill counted. Who would just give her this much money? No one she knew was this rich, beside her old school clique... but she doubted it could be any of them. She hadn't even bothered calling them at all, so who would reach out to her like that?
She put the money down on one of the tables and pulled out the remaining note inside the envelope, unfolding it to find a letter written in ink.
Dear Flower,
I came to visit the other day, but unfortunately, you weren't home, so I figured you were with your family, thus I am writing you this letter to reach out to you. I'm hoping for you to be back soon in your best condition, because if not you, who else will bring this bakery back to life?
Don't bother returning the money, take it as some sort of kickstart. The only repayment I accept is a free cupcake once this place reopens. Preferably any berry cupcake. ☻
