"—and I'm sorry about not considering how you were feeling, which I should've done in the first place!" Cakey apologized all the way through the flight. "I don't know who your mom is, so I shouldn't have just made my own interpretation and pressured you to come back to her!"

Tamari focused on keeping a firm hold on her body, trying not to drop her. "Forgiveness has been given long ago," they reassured, their head occasionally turning to check behind them.

"Really?"

"Positive!"

"You swear you're not upset?"

"I swear to—"

All of a sudden, a bat hit against Tamari's wings, causing some metal plates to break. Flower screamed while Tamari tried to maintain balance in the air.

She looked down, finding Christopher trying to catch up to them. When the bat fell back to the ground, he caught it flawlessly.

"Tamari, are you okay?!" Flower asked.

"Me? Whether I'm in an okay state? Right now, the only relevance is your own wellbeing!"

Christopher kept chasing the two, somehow not losing any stamina. Aiming at Tamari's wing once more, he shut one eye to focus. With all his force, he threw it back up, and it successfully broke off the right wing.

Their remaining wing kept flapping in an attempt to stay up, but the effort wasn't enough, and they started falling. During the fall, Tamari kept a tight grip around her, even when they spun in the air. "Attention! This is your captain speaking. I've got good news and bad news. The good news is we'll be landing immediately. The bad news is: We're crash landing!"

Harshly hitting the hard concrete, Tamari's back met with the ground, with Cakey left nearly unharmed on top of him. When she sat up, the blurry world around her seemed to be swaying, and she held onto her aching head. "Jeez..."

Tamari hurriedly wrapped the remaining wing around her and got back to their feet, which seemed to be weirdly twitching from the damage to his system. They forced themselves to run and use up their energy to get to the bakery was already in sight.

A blurry figure opened the door and ushered them both inside, and just before Christopher could manage getting in, the figure quickly slammed it shut and pressed their body against it.

When Tamari set Cakey back to her feet, she still felt so utterly dizzy that she had to hold onto the nearest wall. She recognized the blurry figure by their green hair... "Nana?"

"Yes, it's me." As Cakey's eyesight grew clearer, she saw fresh scratches and bite marks all over Nana's frowning face. Without her signature hat, her body appeared smaller, and yet that small body was trying to keep the door shut with all of its weight.

"Gosh, what happened?" Cakey asked with worry, her eyes scanning over Nana's injuries once more.

"What happened, you say?" Fists were banging against the door, and it rattled with each increasingly stronger hit. "You happened, that's what!" Nana continued pushing herself against the door, putting all her weight onto it to keep the man out. "I told you to leave and break the mirror, why didn't you listen?!"

Cakey swallowed. She could've avoided being kidnapped, almost being decapitated, and this entire chasing scene if only she had broken the mirror and abandoned this hell of a dimension completely. All because she was a coward. "I couldn't bring myself to do it."
