(Continuation from the previous chapter - The Proposal - 1)

(Chandramukhi's face showing no clear feelings. Hanuman stands in front of her, his cheek a little red, looking both vulnerable and determined. He takes a deep breath to calm himself and starts to speak sincerely)

Hanuman: Miss Chautala, aapka haq hai mujhe maarne ka, aur ab jo bhi main bolunga, woh sunne ke baad, shayad aap mujhe kabhi maaf na kar paaye.

Gulgule : (confused) Maaf na kar paaye! Sir aap kya bol rahe hai? Hamein toh kuch bhi smajh mein nahi aa raha.

(Hanuman manages a small, sad smile before turning back to Chandramukhi)

Hanuman: Main yahan apni asli pehchaan chhupake aaya tha... lekin aapse milkar hi apne aap ko pahechan paaya.

(Chandramukhi's expression remains neutral, her eyes fixed on him, as if gauging the sincerity behind his words. She tilts her head slightly, her voice calm yet firm)

Chandramukhi: Makkhan Singh, Saaf saaf bata ke kahena chah raha hai?

Hanuman : Woh din... main toh sirf apna kaam kar raha tha... ek chhoti si chori.. jab meri mulaqat Hanuman Prasad Pandey se hui.

(He paused, narrating how it had all happened. Josh had been trying to steal Hanuman's wallet when Hanuman caught him. They ended up standing under a coconut tree, and a coconut fell, hitting Hanuman on the head. The impact knocked him out, and he was taken to a mental hospital. In that moment, Josh took Hanuman's place)

(Gopi shakes his head three times dramatically)

Gopi: (with exaggerated concern) Well, daddyji! Kahe dijiye yeh sab hai juth is the; nahin toh main jaaunga aapse ruth is the!

Billu : (To Gopi, deadpan) log kya kahenge Bhaiya, ki aapke daddyji ek number ke chhichhore, chor, pocketmaar, chidimar aur leechad hai! Sheee! (Chandramukhi glares at him)

(Hanuman stands amidst their banter, his heart racing as he searches Chandramukhi's eyes for understanding. Instead, he finds only an unreadable expression, her gaze cool and steady, like a calm lake hiding depths he cannot reach)

Chandramukhi : (calmly) Ke hai thaara asli naam?

Hanuman: (glancing down, nervously) Josh...Josh Joshi.

Chandramukhi : Josh! Ab itne saalon baad, kyo sach bata raha hai?

(As Chandramukhi's question hangs in the air, the tension is suddenly broken by the sound of firm, measured footsteps echoing from the hallway. Every head turns toward the entrance, and a tall, imposing figure strides into the room. He exudes a calm authority that fills the entire space, commanding attention with each step. Dressed sharply in his uniform, his gaze is steady, piercing, yet warm with a knowing kindness that instantly settles the room. His presence feels like a solid anchor in the storm of confusion, radiating strength and clarity)

Man : (In a steady, resonant voice) Kyunki ab hum bilkul thik ho gaye hain!

(His words create a protective barrier between Josh and others. He steps behind Josh, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Josh looks up, stunned. The man's gaze sweeps the room, meeting each eye with a blend of understanding and control)

Billu: (To Josh, sarcastically) Sharm aani chahiye aapko, sir! Sharm aani chahiye! Kaise kaise chhichhoron ko apni gang mein shamil kar rakha hai!

Man : Shut up! Just Shut up! Main hoon Hanuman Prasad Pandey. Yaha ka Chief inspector.
