---Beomgyu woke up feeling strange. His stomach churned uncomfortably, and within seconds, he was scrambling out of bed, rushing to the bathroom. As he knelt by the toilet and threw up, the unpleasant sensation settled into a kind of dread he couldn't shake off.
He heard footsteps behind him, and soon, Yeonjun’s familiar voice cut through his nausea. “Hey, you okay, my anklet?” There was genuine concern in his tone, which only made Beomgyu’s nerves spike even more.
Beomgyu wiped his mouth and nodded weakly, still leaning over the toilet. “Yeah... I think it’s just morning sickness,” he murmured, trying to sound nonchalant.
Yeonjun raised an eyebrow, amusement flashing across his face. “Morning sickness? You sure you’re okay? Maybe I should drop you off at Huening Kai’s place. He might have an easier time taking care of you.”
Beomgyu glared up at him, although his expression was softened by a hint of a smile. “Fine. That’d be better anyway,” he grumbled before adding, “Now, get out.”
Yeonjun chuckled, leaning against the doorframe with a smirk. “Alright, alright. Chill. Did you start your period or something?”
Beomgyu’s face flushed with irritation. “Not that!” he snapped. “It’s just that I’m hella exposed, okay?”
Laughing, Yeonjun raised his hands in surrender. “Alright, alright! I’m out.” He walked away, still chuckling, leaving Beomgyu alone in the bathroom.
As Beomgyu shut the door and leaned against it, a disturbing thought crossed his mind. Could I actually be... pregnant? His stomach twisted again, but this time he wasn’t sure if it was from nausea or panic. His mind replayed recent memories with Yeonjun, his heart pounding harder with each second. No way... pregnant? The word echoed in his mind, making him dizzy.
“No way, right?” he mumbled to himself, shaking his head. “A shower will help... yeah, a shower.”
After cleaning up, he dressed, trying to push the idea out of his mind. He went into the kitchen to make breakfast, but the unsettling thought lingered. A while later, Yeonjun joined him, fresh from his own shower, and they ate together in silence. Beomgyu could barely look at Yeonjun, the uneasy feeling gnawing at him.
When they finished, Yeonjun grabbed his keys. “Ready to go?” he asked, his tone surprisingly gentle.
Beomgyu just nodded, too lost in thought to speak. Yeonjun leaned down, giving him a quick kiss goodbye before heading out.
After he left, Beomgyu took a deep breath and knocked on the door of his older brother Soobin’s apartment. Soobin opened the door, flashing him a warm smile. “Beomgyu! Come in, come in,” he greeted.
Beomgyu forced a smile and stepped inside, taking a seat on the sofa. His heart was racing, and he wasn’t sure how to bring up the topic with Soobin. After a moment, he decided to just go for it. “Hyung,” he began slowly, his voice hesitant, “can I ask you something... a bit weird?”
Soobin, distracted by his phone, looked up briefly and nodded. “Sure, go ahead.”
Taking a deep breath, Beomgyu tried to find the right words. “So... um, what happens if, like... a guy and a girl, you know... do that, and then the girl starts feeling sick in the morning?”
Soobin looked up more attentively now, setting his phone aside. “Well,” he said, scratching his head, “if she’s feeling sick every morning, she might be pregnant. Morning sickness is one of the signs.”
Beomgyu’s eyes went wide, his mind reeling. “Really, Hyung? Just like that?”
Soobin chuckled, shaking his head. “Yeah, pretty much. Why, though? Did Huening Kai tell you something about his family or...?”
Beomgyu’s face turned pale, and he stammered, “Uh... no, it’s... it’s not like that.” He paused, lowering his voice. “Actually... do you know where the nearest pharmacy is?”
Soobin’s eyebrows furrowed. “The pharmacy? Why? Do you need something?”
Beomgyu’s voice dropped even lower, barely a whisper. “I need a... a pregnancy test.”
Soobin’s jaw dropped as he processed what Beomgyu had just said. “Wait... what? Beomgyu, are you serious? You’re... you’re really thinking that you could be...?”
Beomgyu looked down, feeling his cheeks flush. “I don’t know, Hyung. I just... I’ve been feeling weird, and... I just want to make sure.”
Soobin took a deep breath, trying to keep a straight face, although he was clearly shocked. “Alright, Beomgyu. There’s a pharmacy down the street. I can go with you if you want.”
Beomgyu managed a small, grateful smile. “Thanks, Hyung.”
Soobin patted him on the shoulder, his voice softening. “We’ll figure it out, okay? Don’t worry. Whatever happens, I’m here for you.”
