Regulus sat cross-legged on the floor of the cozy living room, surrounded by crayons, stickers, and a stack of blank pages that Lily had brought him. James was in the kitchen, supposedly making dinner, though from the sounds of clattering pots and his cheerful humming, it was more of an adventure than a chore.

Lily settled down beside Regulus, gently brushing his hair back with a soft, motherly touch. "What are you drawing, sweetheart?" she asked, peering over his shoulder with a warm smile.

Regulus looked up, clutching his crayon tightly, his cheeks pink with a mix of shyness and pride.

"It's... it's you and Jamie," he murmured, glancing at his drawing. He'd drawn stick figures—one with James's wild hair and a huge grin, and the other with Lily's long red hair and a soft smile.

Lily's heart melted as she looked at the little family portrait. "That's beautiful, Reggie! You even got James's hair just right." She giggled, nudging him playfully. "Do you want to add anything else?"

Regulus nodded and carefully drew a little dog next to James. "I thought Jamie might want a pet," he explained earnestly, as if he were arranging a grand surprise for James.

Just then, James popped his head around the corner, a smudge of flour on his nose. "Did someone mention me? And a dog?" He grinned, joining them on the floor and wrapping an arm around both Lily and Regulus. "That looks amazing, Reg!"

Regulus blushed and ducked his head. "I thought you'd like it, Jamie," he whispered.

James placed a hand over his heart, feigning an exaggerated gasp. "Are you kidding? I *love* it! Best drawing I've ever seen, hands down."

They all sat together, adding more little details to the picture and filling the page with stars and hearts. Eventually, Regulus's eyes began to droop, his small hands slowing as he colored.

"Looks like someone's getting sleepy," Lily whispered to James, who nodded.

James scooped Regulus up in his arms, holding him close as he and Lily took him up to his room. "Sweet dreams, Reggie," James whispered, tucking him in and ruffling his hair.

As Regulus drifted off, he felt safe, warm, and loved—his heart full and his little family right there with him.
