Don't leave

Harry was all curled up against Draco, content and peaceful in his little space, clinging to Draco's arm like his lifeline. For him, Draco was his comfort, his safe place—someone he could depend on, who would never leave him, no matter what. That's why, when some of Draco's friends stopped by, Harry felt his stomach twist with unease.

"Draco!" Blaise called, waving him over with a grin. "We've got something to show you."

Draco gave Blaise a warm smile and started to stand, but Harry's grip on his arm tightened. Big, worried eyes looked up at him, and Draco could see the anxiety bubbling beneath Harry's expression.

"Stay, Draco," Harry mumbled, his voice soft but pleading. His headspace was so vulnerable, and the thought of Draco stepping away, even for a minute, sent a shiver through him.

Draco knelt back down beside Harry, brushing a gentle hand over his hair. "I'm right here, love. They just want to show me something quickly, and then I'll be right back. You can come too if you want."

Harry shook his head, eyes widening further as he watched Draco's friends wave for him again. He was caught between trusting Draco's promise and the fear of being left behind. Draco could see Harry's little hands twisting together nervously, and his heart clenched at how desperate Harry was to keep him close.

Turning to Blaise and Pansy, Draco gave them an apologetic look. "Give me a second?"

He knelt back down, tilting Harry's chin up so their eyes met. "Hey, I'm not going anywhere without making sure you're okay, alright?" he said softly. "How about this: you hold my hand the whole time. That way you'll know I'm with you the whole way, hmm?"

Harry's eyes were still full of doubt, but he gave a tiny nod. "Promise?""Promise," Draco replied, gently squeezing his hand. He stood up, and this time, he held Harry's hand securely in his own.

With Harry clinging to him, Draco led them both over to his friends, who were waiting a few steps away. Blaise raised an eyebrow, noting Harry's clinginess but choosing not to comment. Pansy smiled softly, seeming to understand Harry's nervousness without a word.

As they led Draco over to the window to show him something—the new Quidditch gear they'd ordered—Harry stuck close by his side, his hand never loosening its grip.

And, as Draco chatted with his friends, he made sure to glance back at Harry every few seconds, giving him a reassuring smile or a gentle pat. Harry's anxious expression slowly softened, his small fingers eventually relaxing in Draco's.

When Draco finally turned back to him, all of his attention on Harry, he saw the beginnings of a smile tugging at his lips.

"There you go, see?" Draco whispered, leaning down to brush a soft kiss on Harry's forehead. "I told you I wasn't going anywhere, didn't I?"

Harry's face lit up with relief, and he squeezed Draco's hand tightly. "You stayed with me," he murmured happily, leaning into Draco's embrace.

"Always," Draco promised. "I'll always stay with you, Harry. No matter what."
