Aristocrats have a great pride on themselves. However, it seemed that aristocrats weren't above running away either.
Sergei looked at the door on which his so called guests had just left. This situation was only getting more complicated.
Sergei: Just as I expected. I knew I should have never trusted these foolish aristocrats.
They had a part to play in their plans. However, it seemed he understimated the extent of stupidity the Mondstadt's aristocracy, and especially Schubert possesed.
Sergei:No matter...We already have the intel we need. Get them!
With some luck, there may be an end here to the famous saviors of Mondstadt. Although going by thwir past achievments, Sergei doubts it.
But what's important is that they can get away with the schematics. Hopefully his men will be able to keep the intruders busy for enough time as so that may happen.
As a matter of fact, on a different part of the ruins Kumagawa and Lumine have encountered his men. Two elite type Fatui soldiers, an Anemo Boxer and an Electro Hammer, and it wasn't going as well as he thought.
Wind whirled around as the Boxer tried to peotect himself with an Anemo shield. However, it proved useless.
The oversized screw drilled right through the elemental energy, piercing the Boxer's chest. Even after killing the targed, the screw didn't stop.
The unconventional weapon continued forth, dragging the corpse of the Anemo Boxer with it. The Electro Hammer thought quick, slamming his war hmmer against the ground.
Electro surged fortg with the strike, the impact raising debris in front of him he intended to use as a shield. The Electro Hammer let out a sifh of relief as the wall of debris managed to stop the oversized screw on his track.
However, his victory was short lived. While using hhs Electro infused strike to raise a wall of debris managed to protect himself, it also lowered his field of vision.
Because of that, he didn't notice when Lumine used the corpse of the Anemo Boxer as a platform to jump high into the air, just a bit beneath the ceiling. She directed Anemo energy into her legs, using a sudden burst of Anemo to prpulse herself towards the Electro Hammer.
Before the opposing Fatui could react, Lumine swung her sword. The blade swiftly cut through flesh and bone, decapitating the Electro Hammer in a single swing.
Kumagawa:[Haha, a great show as always!]
Lumine:You know, I'm really getting too good at this decapitation thing...
Lumine was pretty sure she wasn't so agressive before her adventures in this world. Had Kumagawa somehow managed to influence her into beimg more brutal in battle?
Paimon:You think tjat guy expected.
Lumine:I don't think so. He was quick to run away, but I don't think he's got much stamina.
Kumagawa:[Hm?]
As they advanced through the ruins Kumagawa felt a change in temperature. A specific kind coldness he only felt another time, at the beggining of this little quest.
Kumagawa:[Ah, it seems our cold beauty saw it fit to grace us with her presence after all.]
Paimon:You're right! Look, Eula's here!
Doing her usual job of scouting their surroundings Paimon was quick to notice Eula. The cold and aloof girl stood face to face with her uncle.
Schubert:Don't touch me, get out of my way! I'll leave on my own!
Not that Schubert was in the position of being anywhere else. Two Favonius Knight have already restrained him.
Eula:It seems that we've finally caught up with you. This place is crawling with Fatui.
Kumagawa:[I know, right? It's like a big party! Even though we weren't invited. But, well, I'm used to that.]
Eula: Oh, it's you. It seems your investigation went well.
By now Eula was used to the strange way Kumagawa spoke. So rather than pointimg out how depressive what he just said was, she got right to the point.
Lumine:It was all worth it. Things progressed much faster than we anticipated.
Schubert:Aha! I see now. So you're the one that taught them our etiquette? And I thought you despised such pleasantries! Furthermore, there is a rule in our family. Such traditions are never to be taught to outsiders!
Eula:Ah yes, rings a bell. So what? I had no reason not to teach them.
Schubert let out a noise, like he was choking on air. He was clearly frustrated bu Eula's nonchalant attitude on the matter.
Schubert:Y...You have brought shame to our family and ruined my plans! It's all for naught now!
Eula:I know that you poured great efforts into these plans, uncle. But you were well aware that it was not the right thing to do. As a Knight of Favonius, I could not overlook your actions.
Schubert:Knight of Favonius!? Let's get one thing straight. I am your uncle and you are a member of the Lawrence Clan! You should strive to restore your family's glory!
Every word Eula spoke only seemed to get Schubert angrier. However, he seems to still not give up on getting her on his side.
Schubert:You still have a chance. Defeat every Knight of Favonius here, and leave with me! Then I shall plea with the family to spare you and give you a new beginning.
Eula So just to be clear, you want a Knight of Favonius to attack the Knights of Favonius?
Schubert:I shall say this one last time. You are not a Knight of Favonius. You are a descendant of the Lawrence Clan! The blood of the Lawrence Clan flows in your veins! You must comply with the will of the family!
Eula:Since when have I ever complied with the will of the family?
Schubert:Wh...Why you...You unruly maid!
Kumagawa:[She seems pretty decided. It's a name so inportant? Then let's just change it.]
Eula:Huh?
Kumagawa:[Hey, hey, Eula-chan...Let's get married! You can take my last name!]
Lumine sighed as he spout out such nonsense, half in annoyance and half in envy. Of course he'd want to stir up even more trouble.
Schubert looked more indignated than ever, and even the stoic Knights restraining him couldn't believe what they just heard. However, Eula was clearly the most affected.
Eula:W...Wha...You...What the hell do you thibk you're shouting ou loud in this situation! Mark my words, vengeance will be mine!
Eula was a blushing mess faced with such an earnest and genuine sounding request. Least to say, this has never happened to her before.
However, she had more pressing matters on her hands. She quickly composed herself, she'd have time for her revenge later.
Eula:Anyway...If anyone should be angry, it should be me. As a member of the Lawrence Clan, you knowingly plotted against the city of Mondstadt and threatened its safety. Had you ever stopped to consider the trouble it would bring to so many people? Had you considered how many enemies you would make trying to keep the plans under wraps?
Schubert:Y....You dare lecture me!
Eula:That's right, in the name of the family that you so dearly revere, Uncle Schubert. I've never experienced the age of "glory" you always speak of, and I've never understood our family's incessant pursuit of it.
Eula will give it to him straight. Her uncke really needs a reality check, as well as her entire family.
Eula:But I am capable of discerning right from wrong, and I deeply understand what "freedom" means to the people of Mondstadt. The Lawrence Clan should never and will never become what you've dreamed it to be!
Kumagawa:[Wow! What a great speech! Should I begin to voice out my vows as well now?]
Eula:Just shut up!
