We were standing on top of the mountain, looking down at the fight between Atarah and Velora.I was standing next to Jamie, with Riven on my left side. Stormi was standing next to Jamie.
I guess we were all thinking the same thing.
What a mess.
"Chaos!" Someone yelled from the opposite mountain.
It was the woman on the painting, our queen, standing next to Rio.
"Queen Sophia, nice to see you again" Jamie answered with a smile on his face.
"It wasn't really smart to freeze Utopia when you know we control fire, I expected more from you" she let out a chuckle.
Jamie cracked his neck, clearly annoyed.
"Let her go, Jamie" she pointed at me.
She used his real name, she clearly wanted to get in his head, trying to create some sort of bond between them.
"I am not holding her, she can make her own decisions"
"Aurora" she now turned her attention to me. "You're fighting for the wrong team"
"You're not" Riven whispered from next to me.
"You belong here, in Velora" she yelled. "Did they tell you who I am?"
"You're the queen" I answered.
"I am your mother, Aurora, you're fighting against your own kingdom"
My eyes widened a little. My mother?
She was my mother.
Queen Sophia, the queen of Fire was my mother. So I was the heir of Velora. I belonged there.
Jamie manipulated me to fight against my own kingdom? Against my own people?
"Is it true?" I turned to Jamie. He clenched his teeth against each other and nodded. "Yes"
"And you didn't feel the need to tell me? You expect me to fight my own people?"
"I expect nothing, I told you you can make your own decisions" his voice sounded rough.
He wasn't the same person he was these past few days. This wasn't Jamie that was standing in front of me.
It was Chaos.
"I told you it was a bad idea" Stormi mumbled.
"I will never fight against my own people" I grabbed the dagger out of its straps and pointed it at him. "Did you train me so I would destroy my kingdom?"
He grabbed my wrist, his eyes turned dark as he looked at me. "No Aurora, I trained you because they would never"
I concentrated on my fire powers, letting fire run through my veins. I closed my eyes and when I opened them again, Jamie took his hand back.
Stormi and Riven looked at me, they weren't confused, they were kinda scared.
Stormi immediately grabbed her crossbow, pointing it at me. "I swear if you do something, I will-"
I chuckled, pointed my hand at her, setting her crossbow on fire with a flick of my hand.
"Do you think I'm impressed now?" Stormi said, putting her hands against each other.
She obviously was about to strike me with ice.
"Stop it Stormi" Jamie stopped her. "Let her go if she wants to"
"Then go, and don't fucking come back" Stormi said. "Leave Atarah and take your people with you"
I looked at Jamie, and he said nothing. How could he expect me to fight against my people? He couldn't possibly think that I would.
Or was this how our story ended? With betrayal?
But who betrayed who?
"Let me tell you one thing Aurora" Jamie said as he stepped to me, leaning closer. "One day, I will come to Velora and kill your mother"
I chuckled. "You can try, but don't forget who the most powerful person is here" Two wings of fire popped up behind my back. "Thank you for giving me your powers by the way"
And with that, I threw a huge fire ball at Atarah, burning it to the ground.
