We were standing in Velora again. This time I wasn't here to be locked up in a castle. This time I was gonna kill my mother. The woman who turned me into something evil, someone I didn't recognize.
Spending time with Jamie at Atarah made me realize that.
We were walking through the city, the sky turned extremely dark before lightning came crashing down.
So much for a quiet entrance.
"There will be guards at the castle" I whispered. "I know" Jamie mumbled.
As we walked closer to the castle, the storm was getting louder, it was a thunderstorm I never experienced before.
Jamie's eyes turned darker while Stormi's got lighter. They were channeling their powers, getting them ready.
I had no idea how to do that. I had no control over my powers whatsoever.
We expected to see many guards at the castle, there always were.
But now, there were none. Not one.
"This is not normal" I said as I touched Jamie's hand, which caused electricity to spark the entire hallway.
I always forgot he wasn't Jamie at this moment, he was Chaos.
"I don't care" he grumbled. "Where is she at?"
"Normally at her throne" I shrugged. She spend most of her days at that throne, sitting, reading, ordering people around.
I showed them the way to the throne, but as we entered the room, she wasn't sitting on there.
It was a trap.
She was expecting us, but I didn't tell her.
"I swear I didn't tell he-"
"I know" Jamie cut me off, before hundreds of guards entered the room.
And Rio appeared on the throne. "It's nice that you're bringing her back, Chao-"
"Where's Sophia?" Jamie cut him off.
"Have you learned nothing from the past?" Rio chuckled. "It's not smart to leave your kingdom without powers"
She went to Atarah, while we came here, leaving it unprotected.
"It's gonna be fun killing you" Rio said before looking at Stormi. "But I'm gonna start with your sister first"
Before we could even react, a huge fireball came into her direction. It was going way too fast, even Jamie didn't have time to react.
It was gonna burn her alive.
A huge shadow wall erupted in front of Stormi, protecting her from the fire.
Rio's eyes widened. He probably never saw something like that.
Everyone thought shadow powers were extinct.
But they weren't.
The entire room went dark, completely dark.
As if there was a shadow on us.
Until Riven was standing in front of us with a smirk on his face. "He almost got you there, little snowflake" he said as he looked at Stormi.
"I had it handled, asshole" she snapped.
"You sure did" he winked at her before looking at Jamie. "You need some help?"
Jamie chuckled and nodded. "Let's finish this quickly"
Riven nodded, stood next to Stormi and I swear I could see her smile a little.
The shadow around us went away and the room was back. The room filled with guards.
"You take the guards, while I finish this asshole" Jamie told Riven before nodding at Rio.
"Have fun" Riven chuckled before turning his attention to the guards.
It didn't take him long to kill each and every guard, even Stormi was looking at him, confused on how strong he actually was.
"I left one for you, baby" he looked at Stormi. "I am not your baby" she snapped again.
He sighed. "Fine, then I'll have to kill him myself"
"Wait" she said as she was already grabbing her crossbow. "I will still take the guard though"
She iced the arrow, put it on her crossbow and shot him right in the head, piercing his head with an ice arrow.
"Not bad" he nodded. "What do you mean, it was perfe-" Stormi said before a incredible loud thunder interrupted her, followed by the biggest lightning strike.
I quickly looked at Jamie and Rio.
Rio was dead, killed by the most powerful strike of lightning.
Jamie was already walking back to us, his eyes still dark, but they were slightly lighter now.
"I thought he wasn't a threat?" I smiled, trying to lighten the mood. It was not as if they just killed a room filled with people.
"He wasn't" Jamie grumbled. "But he was getting on my nerves"
His eyes turned normal again, and so did Stormi's.
"Let's go back to Atarah and find her" I said as I held Jamie's hand.
"Don't betray me please" he whispered.
And I realized that I probably always betrayed him in Atarah, he knew I wasn't gonna betray him in here.
Because I always did when we were in Atarah, after I fell for him.
