Aurora's POV

I've been sitting on the balcony of my room in Velora, just like every single day lately.

My mother doesn't like it when I go out, she says a princess doesn't wander around the city and maybe she's right.

Maybe I have to act like a princess, not some random peasant.

So a princess reads books on the balcony, books about the history of Velora, about the royal history and what not.

Even though I wanted to read books about the great war, about Utopia, about what happened with Chaos.

I've been calling him Chaos again, I didn't want to call him by his real name, never again.

He betrayed me, he wanted me to fight against my own people, he trained me so I would kill and destroy Velora.

I know my mother was planning on one final attack on Atarah. They were weak, Chaos was weak, the only two people that could protect them were Riven and Stormi.

Stormi was the princess of Atarah, with extremely strong ice powers.
Riven, my egg boy, the only guy I actually missed, he had rare and strong shadow powers.

And together? I was kinda afraid what they could do together.

"Princess Aurora?" A servant walked in my room, holding a dress. "You need to get dressed for the dinner"

There was a dinner every evening, but this one was different.

It was the dinner before my wedding with Rio, which was tomorrow.

A wedding my mother has arranged for decades so it seemed. I don't know why I didn't marry him back then, guess something happened.

Probably the great war.

My mother wanted to take a step down, wanted me to be the queen of Velora, but that could only happen when I marry someone, in this case Rio, or if my mother died obviously.

I didn't want that to happen, so I agreed on marrying Rio.

He's been good to me, he always was nice, caring and respectful.

He wanted to protect me, not like Chaos who would rather have me fight beside him.

Even though that didn't sound too bad if I was honest.

I put on the dress that my mother picked out. Once again a black dress with flames on it.

They weren't really original with it.

There was a little knock on my door, so I quickly opened it. Rio was standing in front of it, all dressed up.

"You're looking beautiful" he said as he looked at me and kissed my cheek.

"Thank you, so do you" I said as I held his hand and made our way to the dining room.

Normally it would only be the two of us, mother never joined us for dinner, but today, there were so many people.

People that I didn't know nor cared about.

I realized I had no friends here in Velora, back in Atarah, I had Riven, who I considered a friend.

Even though he might see that slightly different now.

Rio and I sat down at the table, next to my mother, who was obviously sitting at the head of the table.

She nodded quickly at me before she stood up, looking at the rest of the guests.

"Tonight, we are celebrating the marriage between Rio and my daughter Aurora, who finally returned to Velora"

Rio smiled, grabbed my hand, caressing it softly.

"Tomorrow, they will be united forever and they will be King and Queen, so let's raise our glasses to them" she said as she grabbed a glass and held it up.

So that's what I did too, and everyone else for that matter before they looked at us.

"I think they want to see a kiss" Rio whispered.

I wasn't thrilled to do this, but it would be weird not to.

But before I pressed my lips against his, I build walls around my powers. I wasn't gonna transfer it to Rio, not anymore.

He kissed me, smiled a little and took a sip from his drink.

He didn't mention the fact that I didn't transfer my powers, maybe he didn't realize it, or maybe he didn't want it?

Maybe his love for me was genuine?
