The two didn’t seem likely to settle down anytime soon, so the others resumed the discussion. With a collective understanding, Sheritt and Mila agreed: Mila, Dodori, and Rasheel would accompany Eruhaben and Cale to their base and join the final battle. Sheritt, meanwhile, would remain at the Castle to support in any way she could, ready to contribute her powers from afar.
The dragons had made their decision; they were now fully committed to the fight against the White Star.

After their plans were settled, Sheritt managed to convince Cale to stay a bit longer, persuading him with the simple desire to spend more precious time with Raon. Although initially hesitant, Cale found himself swayed by the idea of taking a break—and the prospect of a quiet nap away from the mountain of paperwork and demanding people that awaited him back at the palace.
So, with a rare, relaxed smile, Cale agreed. Now, they were all comfortably lounging in the sitting room. Sheritt, her eyes warm, was seated beside Raon, who delighted in her company. Mila and Eruhaben were deep in conversation, their voices a soft murmur as they exchanged thoughts. Rasheel, meanwhile, had draped himself rudely across one of the couches, casually munching on apples as he threw in the occasional sarcastic comment to anyone who would listen.
Cale, however, was sprawled on his own couch, his long red hair cascading over the cushions and pooling around him. All he wanted was a little sleep, his head tucked under a pillow to block out the world. But that peaceful plan was thwarted by one particularly enthusiastic young dragon—Dodori.
For reasons Cale couldn’t begin to fathom, Dodori was brimming with questions, each one spilling out before the previous could even fully land. And to make matters worse, Dodori had taken to calling him "Teacher-nim," despite Cale’s many attempts to discourage the title.
"Teacher-nim!" Dodori began excitedly, his eyes shining. "What does the royal palace of the Phoenixes look like? Is it really under the water? How do you even breathe down there? And can you see all the colors like the fish do…?"
The relentless questions continued, Dodori’s fascination with phoenix lore seemingly endless. All the while, Cale remained in his spot on the couch, face hidden beneath a pillow, his once-tidy hair now messily strewn about as he tried to ignore the barrage.
"Dodori," Cale mumbled through the pillow, desperation creeping into his tone, "why don’t you go ask Raon?"
"But no, Teacher-nim," Dodori replied earnestly, unshaken. "You’re far wiser than young Raon. I need you to enlighten me, Teacher-nim!"
Cale could only groan inwardly, feeling the weight of his new, unwanted title and mentally bemoaning his fate. 'What did I do to deserve this?’ he thought, suppressing a sigh as Dodori continued his rapid-fire questioning.
Sleep, it seemed, would have to wait.
As Cale reclined on the couch, his body finally settling into what he hoped would be a fleeting, peaceful rest, he began to drift in and out of a delicate reprieve.
However, this fragile calm proved elusive, disrupted by the unyielding voices of the powers residing within him. Each voice reverberated through his mind, echoing with insistence and shattering any semblance of tranquility he might have claimed for himself.
The cacophony left no room for silence, drowning out his attempts to unwind with their unending chorus, as though they were intent on dragging him back into the chaos.
°°💖😭: "Poor Cale" Crybaby whimpered through shuddering breaths. “He just needs some rest.” His voice cracked, and he sniffled miserably. “His mental health is breaking down again...”
he choked, trailing off into heavy sobs before he, too, seemed to spiral into his own breakdown.Cale sighed internally. 'Of course,’ he thought dryly, ‘because one crying, sobbing presence wasn’t enough in here.'
°°🛡️: “CALE, GO EAT SOMETHING! I’M STARVING!”
Glutton complained in a whiny tone, clearly paying no mind to Cale’s current state.°°🪨: “You’re only making it worse,”
Super Rock deadpanned, his tone flat, yet somehow managing to carry a sense of authority. He sighed, as though he had seen this all too many times before.Unperturbed, Cheapskate spoke up with an eagerness that bordered on casual disregard.
°°🔥💸: “Cale, why don’t we just blow this place up?”
He suggested, as if it were the simplest solution in the world.°°🌬️🍃: “Oh, yeah! And then we’ll take everything valuable from here,” Thief chimed in, sounding as though the plan was a brilliant stroke of genius. The two chuckled, fueling each other’s mischievous energy.
From somewhere deeper in his mind, Crazy Kid burst out with unrestrained enthusiasm
°°💦🌊: “Yeah fu**ing go for it! DO IT, CALE! HAHAHAHA!”
Her laughter grew wild, infectious, and soon Cheapskate and Thief joined in, creating a cacophony of sinister amusement that only seemed to intensify.Cale, in the middle of it all, felt the edges of his sanity slipping. He gritted his teeth, his patience fraying at an alarming rate. 'What did I do to deserve this?’ he thought bitterly, frustration bubbling up as his mind swirled with the antics of his powers.
’This is all that GOD's fault,’ he thought to himself. ’I swear, after I finish with the White Star, I’ll make sure to deal with that GOD too.’ His eyes flashed with a dark determination, and somewhere in his mind, he imagined himself laughing in vengeful triumph.
Meanwhile, in a distant realm, a certain god sneezed rather dramatically, a shiver running down his spine. “Something bad is coming…” he muttered, looking nervously over his shoulder as he wiped his nose. Then, with a sudden thought, his face paled. “Please don’t let it be my son.” Sniffling, he whispered to himself in a trembling voice, “I need to prepare...”
_____
Back at the Castle of Light, a rare and precious calm had settled. Cale had finally managed to steal a moment of quiet solitude on the couch, as Dodori had gone off to join his mother. Yet, this peace would prove to be fleeting. In an instant, the atmosphere shifted, an almost tangible tension filling the room.
Cale, his expression suddenly serious, sat up sharply from his reclined position on the couch. His gaze was distant, intense, and focused on something unseen, sending a ripple of confusion through the room.
“Did something happen, Cale?” Eruhaben asked, his normally calm tone laced with concern as he took in the gravity of Cale’s expression.
“WHAT’S GOING ON, NIXEE?” Raon’s voice was louder, frantic, as he hurried over to his father figure, his wide eyes searching for answers.
Cale looked up at them with a smirk, his voice steady but excited as he responded. “The World Tree has contacted me. The White Star is close to the Water Palace." He stated " His intentions are unmistakable—he’s planning to destroy everything.”
A chilling silence fell over the room as the weight of his words sank in, a cold and determined resolve settling in each of their expressions.
The message was unmistakable: the final battle was upon them.
