A full year had passed, and it was finally the big day. All the ninja had waited patiently, and here it finally was. Oh, who's getting married? Well, you see...
5 hours earlier...
"I can't do it." Jay deadpanned to himself in the mirror
"Oh brother, you've said that same line 8 different times already." Nya groan as she combed through his ginger curls
"No, but I really can't do it. What I fart really loud when I'm walking down the aisle? What if I trip? What if I get nervous and puke? Oh my God, I think I'm gonna puke. NYA, WHAT IF I PUKE?" Jay quizzed with growing concern
"Omg, Kai, please take over." The dark haired girl asked her brother
"Jay!"
"Yes sir...?" The redhead answered timidly
"Did you eat anything strange this morning, soldier?" Kai asked, standing up from where he was sitting
"No, sir!"
"So you're not queasy over food this lovely morning?" Kai asked loudly
"No, sir!" Jay answered again
"You gettin' cold feet?" Kai quizzed
"No, sir!"
"So you must love Cole a whole lot, right, soldier?"
"Yes, sir! Very much, sir!"
"And you wanna marry him, right?"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
"Then quit your whining and get out there!" Kai commanded
"Gah!" Baby Kane shouted
"Kane said he agrees and your being a little pussy." Kai spoke, gesturing to the baby that was strapped to his chest, causing Nya to laugh
"Nuh uh. He's a one year old, he did not say that." Jay pouted
"You callin' my baby a liar?" Kai asked lowly
"No, I'm calling you a liar!" Jay exclaimed with a small grin
The two men laughed as Jay pinched the small baby's cheek. Kane, the newest addition to the ninja family, was a blonde haired, blue eyed, bundle of laughter and mischief. All the ninja fawned over him, especially Master Wu, who would spoil the babe with presents and toys often
"Don't sweat it, Jay. Everything's gonna be fine." Nya spoke softly, patting the groom's shoulder
"Thanks..." Jay smiled
A few more touch-ups, and Jay was finally ready to walk down the aisle. To say he was afraid was a massive understatement; but hey, at least he looked good. The groom wore a sharp, white tux with a baby blue button up under it, a white bow tie, and his usually spunky, ginger curls were combed neatly
"Are you ready, sweetheart?" Jay's mother, Edna, smiled as she looped her arm in with his
"Ready as I'll ever be." Jay smiled wide
"Son, can I just say, I am so proud of you and the man you've become." Ed, Jay's father spoke as he rubbed his shoulder
Jay's heart swelled. Both his parents would be walking him down the aisle, his mother on his left, and his father on the right. And waiting for him at the end of the aisle would be his beautiful groom. He was so happy. It felt like all the turmoil that he faced and all the ups and downs with Cole were finally coming full circle.
He eyes watered a bit before he grinned,
"Thanks, Dad."
Finally, the grand, red oak doors opened, and the piano began to play. Jay could not contain his giddy smile and the flashing cameras of the few paparazzi that they allowed in did not distract Jay from the man at the end of the end of the aisle. Cole looked so amazing. He wore a striking black tux with shining, silver rings on every other finger. His long hair was neatly done up in a bun, and the most beautiful smile in the whole world graced his face.
Once Jay finally made it up to the front, his sniffling parents let go and headed back to their seats.
The officiant cleared his throat before speaking, "We are gathered here today to celebrate the wondrous matrimony of these two kindred spirits..."
Cole extended both of his hands with a loving smile, and Jay took them tightly in his own.
Finally, they were together.
Just another day in Ninjago.
