The night passed quickly, making room for the bright morning sky as it went.
The ninja had all fallen asleep in their regular rooms worried by the green ninja's empty bed, but hoping for him to return home. When they all awoke to realize the bed was still empty, it was as if hell broke lose.
"Where is my nephew?" Wu asked angrily
"I don't know! We was there when he left yesterday, I thought he'd be with them two." Cole answered, gesturing at Kai and Zane with his thumb
"We didn't see him. We left before him so we couldn't possibly know where he went." Zane answered calmly
"Dammit...! So nobody knows where he is?" Kai asked loudly. "Hey, a little help here!" Kai yelled out into the hallway
"No! And stop bothering me, I'm getting ready!" Jay exclaimed as he stepped out of the bathroom with his Con Day outfit on.
The redhead stepped out in a baggy, black Pac Man t-shirt, baggy, black gym shorts, and white crew socks
"Hey Wu, I'm ready to go!" Jay called out, catching his sensei's attention
Wu pinched the bridge of his nose for a short while before responding to his redheaded student,
"Alright..." Wu spoke before turning to the other ninja, "You all. Make sure Lloyd is back in this house before we return."
"Yes, Sensei..." The remaining ninja spoke at once
Jay hurried to the kitchen to grab his sandwich from the microwave before stumbling over to the front door to put on his black converse
"Bye! Text me if you find him!" Jay called out before heading out the door
The ninja waved him and their teacher goodbye before turning back around to face each other and their growing problem
Where is Lloyd?
Somewhere in the city, Lloyd was snuggled in between a dark, leather couch and a soft, blue blanket. He woke up a while ago, yet couldn't find the energy to leave his spot, so he laid there on the couch, pondering his next move.
He knew why he left. He had to get out of there, but he didn't really plan ahead of that. Should he just go home?
...No.
Lloyd sat up out of his makeshift bed and surveyed the surroundings he was so careless about just yesterday.
The warm toned room was dimly lit with 1 or 2 smaller leather couches littered around it. The apricot colored carpet was soft in certain areas, yet hard in others. It was stained with dark prints from boots that Lloyd assumed belonged to Ronin, and a few wads of bright colored gum from mischievous kids in the dojo. The dim light that crept out from the lamp on top of a small shelf glided across the cream colored walls and drenched the room in a smokey, amber tone. A small smile grew onto Lloyd's face as he took notice of the personal touches in the room with him. Picture upon picture of Dareth and Ronin graced the whole area, pictures of kids with Dareth in the dojo, and a singing Billy Bass mounted onto the wall.
Their home was warm.
Lloyd decided he had lounged on the couch for too long and finally stood up from the area where he sat, sighing to himself as he did. The blonde rubbed his sleepy eyes as he made his way out of the living room and towards the kitchen. When he got to the cool toned kitchen and felt the cold tile hit him through his soft, white socks, he shivered as he made his way to the oven to check the time
9:43 AM. Early.
The blonde remembered Jay's Con Day at that moment and his mind drifted back home. His family had to have noticed he was gone by now, but did they even care? He didn't want to think like that, but he couldn't help it. So far, it was radio silent. He didn't even have his phone, so there was no way the ninja could actually contact him, but still. Lloyd leaned against the cool kitchen counter as he thought to himself before snapping to attention at the sound of a rather hard knock on the door
Lloyd rushed to answer the impatient sound from the door before finally unlocking the wooden mass and swinging it open. He stood at the doorway alone. The blonde looked around to find the source of the knock before brushing it off as a dingdong ditch and closing the door once again. Lloyd turned around to go back to his original spot before feeling cool lips press against his at once.
The teen didn't have to open his eyes, he knew who it was. He already knew whose cold hands were cupping his face so gently, whose large body was holding him so tight. He already knew.
When the two separated, Lloyd laid his head down against Morro's chest, simply reveling in the sound of his lover's voice.
"Lloyd! ¿Estás loco? ¡Estaba muy preocupado! I've been looking everywhere for you! Are you okay?" The ghost quizzed in a panic
"Yeah, I'm okay..." Lloyd smiled softly as he cupped Morro's face in his hands
Morro watched Lloyd for a few moments before pressing their heads together and sighing a deep sigh
"Good...good." Morro sighed
"You were worried?"
"No duh." Morro spoke with sarcasm, causing Lloyd to laugh
The two boys stared into each other for what a rather long while before Morro finally broke the silence
The ghost leaned into the crook of Lloyd's neck and muttered softly,
"Te amo..." He whispered softly
It was quiet. Too quiet. Morro kept his face in the crook of Lloyd's neck, unable to face him in case of rejection. This was his first time telling Lloyd he loved him. Hell, this was his first time telling anyone he loved them. He stayed silent, his lip quivering lightly as he waited for Lloyd's response.
"...Te amo? What's that?" Lloyd asked with confusion
"Come on! You don't even know "te amo"?" Morro laughed with confusion, and a small bit of relief as he brought his head up to face his boyfriend
"What? You always say you're gonna teach me Spanish, and then you never do!" Lloyd huffed as he hit Morro's chest, the ghost laughing even harder in response
"Morroooo...tell me what it means...!" Lloyd whined playfully
"No...! I almost shit myself saying it just now. I'm not telling you what it means." Morro smirked
The two laughed and played together there at the doorway, basking in each other's company and finding comfort at last.
