Narrator POV:
When it came to Catra, Guilt was not something she was accustomed to. By being screwed over by everyone that ever meant anything to her, she developed a "Look out for nr1" kind of mentality that allowed her to focus only on things that would benefit her and her alone and she wasn't about to change her mind on this. When Amber had left, it felt as if a deep pit had ripped itself open inside the hybrid "I knew she'd try and screw with us, not that she'd succeed in doing so however" she looked at Lonnie who sat opposite of her, looking to the floor and touching the back of her folded hands with her forehead "Lon, I..." Catra started but Lonnie was faster.
"She ain't the only bitch hiding shit here, Catra... why do you hate her so much? What won't you tell us?" she looked around the room "Adora knows... and I guess Lauren has been told or figured it out but we're not worthy of some good Tea?"
Catra sighed, knowing she'd now be forced to recount what she had told Adora and even then, hated telling anyone "It's a long story.." she began, feeling the pit in her stomach widen when Adora spoke up.
"They were good friends in high school and things ended badly.. there, no long story needed. Now, this Contract here is the thing you should focus on, Lonnie" Adora said, her face still focused on the stack of several stapled Papers.
"...why?"
"Right here..." she pointed out a line "... this means you guys can't make any real money for the first Year. I have no idea how normal this is and would like to show it to a Professor of mine to take a look"
"Really? That would be awesome" Lonnie said, her face visibly showing her improved mood before she ran out to tell the other two who were busy in the Kitchen with Melog while Lauren had excused herself to take a call outside.
"Thanks..." Catra said, letting her Head fall on her Girlfriends shoulder
"Figured you didn't want them to know and in my opinion, they know enough with this little white lie"
"Glad you noticed" she said, kissing Adoras cheek "Not like I'm ashamed of dating her or as if I would ever not want them to know about my past but.."
"You're embarrassed that you trusted her the way you did and don't like talking about it... there is no shame in believing in People, even if they turn out to be the worst kind, you know?"
"Hmm... still feels like shit that she is holding this over me, no gonna lie"
"We figure something out and even if we can't go outside as much, I am more of an introvert anyway" Adora grinned
"Shut up, dork" Catra answered and kissed her deeply. Being accepted and loved by Adora felt so good that she had a hard time not looking for the ulterior motive, the knife that waited for her, should she show a weak point, no matter how much she knew that it wasn't coming.
They were about to get into it when a sudden "Umm..." from behind them shook them out of their sexy mood and made them remember that the others were still around.
"Sorry..." Adora said, untangling herself a bit
"Oh no, don't mind us..... go on"
"Fuck you, Lon" Catra muttered
"If you ain't getting busy there is little reason for us to stay"
"Are you implying there would be if we were?" Catra asked, genuinely curious but receiving only a small grin as an answer
"... I'll let you know as soon as I have someone look the contract over" Adora said when Lauren came back from her call
"We good?"
