Teddy and Kane ran through the darkness, the cold air hitting their faces like ice, the weight of freedom pressing on them. They stuck to the shadows, moving fast and silent, guided by Kane's knowledge of the area. Adrenaline pulsed in their veins, pushing them forward, fueling their every step.

After what felt like hours, they reached the edge of a rundown neighborhood. Kane slowed, catching his breath. "We can't go back to where we came from," he said. "Too many eyes in familiar places. We need to get lost, find a spot where nobody knows our names."

Teddy nodded. His old life—the 4th District, his mother, his entire past—felt like a distant memory. The betrayal, the anger, everything that had driven him was still there, but now it was focused on one thing: survival.

Kane glanced around, his gaze sharp and calculating. "There's an old safehouse on the other side of town. It used to belong to one of my brother's friends. It'll buy us a few days to rest up and plan our next move."

They moved cautiously, slipping down side streets and back alleys until they reached a rundown, abandoned building. The windows were broken, and the door hung loosely on its hinges. Inside, the air was thick with dust, but it felt safe—a place to breathe, to think.

As they settled in, Kane threw a blanket over to Teddy. "Get some sleep. We've got a lot to figure out if we're gonna stay free."

Teddy lay down, exhaustion finally catching up with him. But as he drifted off, the memory of his uncle's voice echoed in his mind, a reminder of why he couldn't go back.
