The next few days were a blur of planning, strategizing, and hiding from the authorities. They knew they couldn't go public with the evidence yet—Teddy's reputation was too tainted, and no one would believe a couple of escapees. They needed allies, people who could help them get the truth out without tipping off his mother's network.

Kane suggested reaching out to an old contact, a former journalist named Lena, who had been known for exposing corruption in the city. They arranged a meeting in a run-down diner on the outskirts of town, slipping in just before dawn.

Lena was older, with sharp eyes and a no-nonsense demeanor. She listened to their story, her gaze narrowing as Teddy showed her the evidence.

"You know what you're doing here, right?" she said, her voice low. "Your mother has people everywhere. If this gets out, she'll come after you with everything she's got."

Teddy met her gaze, resolute. "She already has. I'm not stopping until she's brought to justice."

Lena nodded, a hint of respect in her eyes. "Alright. I'll see what I can do to get this into the right hands. But be careful—this is going to shake things up."
