The alleyway was suffocating, the thick fog that rolled in making it nearly impossible to see. Teddy, Kane, and Lena had left the building with one mission in mind: get out of the city and get to the press. But the city had other plans. Every turn they took felt like a game of cat and mouse, as if they were being hunted by shadows.
"I don't like this," Kane muttered, his hand gripping the gun at his waist. "Something doesn't feel right."
Teddy's instincts were on high alert, his eyes scanning the shadows ahead. He had the strangest feeling that they weren't just running from his mother's goons—they were being led straight into a trap.
"They're close," Teddy said, barely above a whisper. "We need to move faster."
They hurried down the alley, their footsteps silent against the wet pavement. But just as they rounded the corner, they were stopped dead in their tracks by the sound of a car pulling up behind them. Teddy's heart skipped a beat as he turned around, only to see a figure stepping out of the vehicle—someone he hadn't expected to see.
A familiar face.
"Jax?" Teddy breathed, shock hitting him like a brick. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Jax, a former friend turned ally in this messed-up world, flashed a grin. "Saving your ass. Get in."
Without waiting for an answer, Jax motioned for them to climb into the car. Teddy hesitated for a moment, but the urgency in the air was undeniable. They had no time to waste. The car door slammed shut behind them, and they sped off into the night, the headlights cutting through the thick fog.
"I never thought I'd see you again, man," Teddy said, his voice hoarse from the tension.
Jax shrugged, his grin not quite reaching his eyes. "You've got bigger problems than your mother now. We're not the only ones coming after you."
