Michael was known as the schools bad boy. With his ever changing hair, tattoos and piercings. He could get any girl he wanted. It was a mixture of his good looks and the aura around him. Everyone wanted to know (even for a few days) what it would be like to date a 'bad boy' but you had no interest. It wasn't that you didn't like Michael - you didn't even know the guy - you just didn't understand the hype. He would just look at a girl and they would blush.
You met him for the first time in science. The teacher paired the two of you up.
"Hey I'm Michael." He said once that task started,
"Y/N," you mumbled reading the instruction sheet. He was silent for a few moments.
"So, I've never seen you around school. Are you new?"
"No. I've been here just as long as you."
"Really? How come I've never seen you around?"
"Maybe cause I don't fawn over you." You whispered.
"mmm," he said trying to get you to repeat what you had just said. You just shook you head. "So what can I do?" Deciding to have some fun you responded.
"Can you pour some Dihydrogen monoxide into the container?" you pointed to a beaker. He picked it up and spilt it all over his hands. He started shouting that it hurt.
"Dihydrogen monoxide is water Michael." You stated which shut him up.
"I knew that," he acknowledged. You laughed at him and he smiled back. Little did you know that in that simple act you made the bad boy Michael fall head over heels with you.
A few days past and you didn't see him around school. But he was always there. He was trying to understand you. Out of all the girls, he wanted the one who didn't want him back. By the time the next science lesson came around Michael on purposely sat next to you.
"Hello?" you said confused. Why was he sat next to you?
"Hi. Remember me?"
"It would be hard to forget... Not to sound rude. But why are you sat next to me?"
"Because there was a free seat next to you."
"If you look around there are many free seats."
"But they aren't next to you," he winked. Your mouth fell open in shock but you soon closed it and rolled your eyes facing the front of the class waiting for the teacher to start. All through the lesson you couldn't help but notice Michael staring at you. It was getting on your nerves.
"What are you hoping it's going to achieve? Staring at me like that. It's creeping me out."
"I'm hoping you will fall for me." He winked again earning a tut.
"Oh yes. Please Michael continue staring at me cause that is going to make me fall for you,"
"Good." You scoffed. How could someone be so arrogant? When the bell rung you quickly packed your stuff and left as soon as you could. Michael sighed looking at your retreating figure. This was going to be harder then he thought.
The following day you were in the lunch line when Michael pushed his way next to you.
"Hey Y/N," he grinned. Sighing you ignored him. "Been up to much?" you shuck your head still not looking at him. Getting to the till Michael told the lunch lady you were together.
"No we aren't."
"Yes we are." You opened your mouth to argue but Michael had already paid for your lunch. You began to walk away from him when you heard him shout,
"I just paid for your dinner! At least sit with me," This angered you even more. You didn't ask him to pay for your dinner. But you were raised to be polite so you did go sit with him. But you pulled out a book to read. It was silent until you heard Michael giggling to himself. You tried to ignore him but eventually curiosity took over you. Lowering your book you saw he had two straws in his face impersonating a walrus while wiggling his eyebrows in a 'seductive' matter. You tried not to laugh but the more you tried the more you wanted to laugh. Eventually it took over you and you laughed. You laughed more then you should have. Michael joined in your laughing as he found it hilarious how hilarious you found it. Soon you were both red in the face from laughing at each other you both ended up getting headaches. You both looked around the dining area and saw people were staring at you. You blushed slightly. Michael placed his hand on top of yours and you looked at him, down to the hands and back up at him,
"Sorry, I have to go." You stood up and quickly left the room. Michael slumped in his seat. Why must he always look at your retreating back?
A few more days past and you had managed to avoid Michael. You admitted the water incident and the lunch incident made you smile but you didn't want to be one of those girls who drooled over him. Why couldn't someone else be stalking you?
"Boo!" someone shouted making you jump. Turning you saw it was Michael. "You seemed pretty lost in thought there. Were you thinking of me?" he joked. You began to blush. "You were weren't you!" this caused you to blush even more if that was possible! You looked up at Michael and he was smiling at you. Not in a laughing way, more of an affectionate way.
"So, me and the guys are having a party tonight if you wanted to come." He invited.
"Well..." you began but he interrupted you.
"Great I'll see you at 7! I'll text you the details and he ran off. You didn't even agree to go! But again curiosity took the better of you and you went to the house that Michael texted you - God only knows how he got your number. Knocking on the door he answered almost instantly.
"He's been waiting for you," you heard a masculine voice call from inside the house. You knew it would be either Ashton, Luke or Calum. You had a look around and saw no one.
"I thought you were having a party?" you asked confused. You weren't early and yet there just seemed to be Michael, yourself and whoever the voice belonged to.
"Yeah! A 5 man party! Well. 4 man party and 1 woman." Your eyes widened slightly in fear. You were the only girl here? This normally led to a bad situation. "Don't worry Y/N, all the guys here have promised to be gentlemen. We won't do anything inappropriate." He finally stepped aside allowing you to step into the house. Looking around it seemed like a lovely home. "My parents won't be home until later." He assured. You followed faint voices until you saw 3 boys sat on the sofa. Two of them were playing on the x box while the other sat and watched. You later learned the one not playing was Ashton and the other two were Luke and Calum. You had always known they were their names but now you could actually label them with their correct names. You sat next to Ashton for most of the time you were there which made Michael slightly jealous. He had invited you so he could get closer to you not Ashton. Ashton finally caught on and moved so Michael could sit next to you. You didn't really mind. You were paying more attention to the X box then the person sat next to you. The three guys excused themselves to go pick up some pizza leaving Michael and you alone. Pizza wasn't a 3 man job but they all decided they would go.
"Are you having fun Y/N?" Michael asked. You nodded while smiling. You actually were. Michael was glad. You turned your body so you were facing him rather than sitting to the side of him. Getting all of your courage you asked,
"Why are you so... interested in me?"
"Because. It's like. You see me for me. You don't see me as Michael the bad boy, you see me as Michael,"
"Michael the pain in the ass." You nudged his arm causing him to smirk.
"Exactly. I like that. And I was wondering. Would you..." he was interrupted buy the guys coming back, "That didn't take long." Michael glared. The guys gulped.
The following day at school you decided you would spend more time with them. You sat with them in your free time and lunch. Of course you got a few glares from girls who would love to be in your position only for a second. But they dint know Michael was actually a big softie. A giant kitten. They only saw him for his tattoos, piercings and dyed hair. You were falling for the softie. Although you did still disprove of his previous stalking actions. You were sat next to him talking to Luke when you felt his hand nudge against yours. You ignored it. Again a few minutes later you felt his hand nudge against yours. You looked at him and he was looking away. You rolled your eyes - in a playful way- and ignored him again. The 3rd time his hand lingered. It nudged against yours but stayed there. Taking a hint you interlocked your fingers with his but you didn't look at him. Nor did you acknowledge that underneath the table you were holding his hand. A few days passed and you held his hand under the table every day. Not just at lunch but in science too since he decided that his permanent seat was to be next to you rather than his previous seat. The first time you held hands while walking in the corridor you got a few points and whispers but you didn't care. People were just shocked that Michael the bad boy and one of the girls who reads for fun were possibly together! His grip tightened as if to say he was here and nothing would happen.
After a week or so of holding hands Michael pulled you into an empty classroom.
"What?" you asked confused, why did he bring you in here?
"I want to know," he said sternly.
"Want to know what?"
"What are we? Are we together? Or do you just like holding my hand?"
"Well I do enjoy holding your hand." You said lifting his hand and playing with his fingers. "But I wouldn't mind maybe being together too." He grinned. Leaning forward he kissed you. The kiss got a little too passionate as before you knew it a teacher came in and gasped at what she saw. You sat on a desk with your clothes all messy and out of place. Nothing inappropriate happened but something that maybe you shouldn't do at school happened and you both were placed in detention. That was how the bad boy got a book worm into detention for the first time. People around the school were shocked. You had never even turned homework in late and yet here you were getting detention. Of course the teachers blamed Michael for setting you down the dark path but neither of you cared. You just waited until school finished to carry on with what you to were up to in the classroom. Maybe you got a few more detentions down the line. But you were in love with the bad boy and he was in love with you and no matter how many detentions you got that wouldn't change.
