“May I ask what you’re doing here?” I don’t remember inviting Erin to my house. Instead of answering, she pushed on the door, entering like she owned the place.

“We’ve a problem,” she announced. Slowly, I closed the door, then turned to her. Her face was serious, her eyes dark while fear bled through them.

“I’m sure you and your family can take care of this problem.” Erin and I didn’t talk, and did she really believe I held the answers to whatever problem she had?

“We can’t,” she said and looked around the hallway.

“Come on,” I said, motioning for her to follow me. Erin looked like she was here to stay until she accomplished what she wanted.

“You’ve a pleasant house,” she said as we reached the living room, her eyes taking in every inch of the place.

“Thank you. Can I offer you something?”

“Only your help,” she said. Sighing, I dropped on the leather couch, waiting for her to say something.

“Talk, Erin,” I prompted when she stayed silent. It seemed as if she was worried or fighting with herself like one would when fighting to keep a secret. With each passing second, I grew intrigued by what she wanted to say. What could have her so worked up like that? This had to be something major.

“It’s about our mate,” my wolf said.

“We’ve a problem,” she said again.

“You already said that,” I reminded her, in case she had completely forgotten.

“A very big one,” she went on. A powerful urge to throw her out of my house took over my body. If she came here, only to give me cryptic messages, then she had to go. The day’s events were already tiring. Her coming here was a surprise, and the surprise was turning into a nightmare.

“Are you going to talk or what?” I asked. Looking at her closely, she looked nothing like Sybil. Erin inherited her father’s features only softer.

“It’s Sybil,” she started.

Told you!” my wolf chimed in.

“What about her?” Suddenly, worry took over my body. What had happened to her? She was fine a few hours ago, right?

“She’s about to snap.” I glared at Erin. Wolves snapped all the time when things weren’t going their way. It was one way of dealing with anger, a good way.

“So?” She really didn’t come here to tell me all of this. I saw Sybil in the woods today. I suspected that she was about to do that, but I calmed her down. Everything was fine.

“People get hurt when she snaps.”

“Look Erin, I don’t get whatever you’re saying here. Why don’t you just tell me why you came here instead of being cryptic like this?”

“Sybil has anger issues.”

“Werewolves have anger issues, Erin.”

“Not like her. With her, it’s the worst thing you could ever imagine. She tries to suppress it, but mostly it gets the best of her. When she snaps, people get hurt, badly.”

“And?” I really didn’t understand why she was telling me all this? What did she want me to do? Calm Sybil down? If people were to witness that, then they would know what the hell was happening between us. Pierce and the woman in front of me suspected as much. I didn’t want other people thinking the same.

“As I told you before, she’s about to snap, and you people are contributing greatly to that.”

“How does that concern me?”
