After the bookstore, I went on a walk and guys whistled at me. I ignored them and kept going about my business. Then I saw Jamie with Mason and I wanted to barf. I tried to find a place to hide, but Jamie spotted me and smiled at me.

"Hey!" She waved me over.

I rolled my eyes and walked up to them. "What?"

"How are you?" She asked.

"And where are the rest of your clothes?" Mason asked.

I went to respond, but spotted Jamie's left hand that had a ring on it.

"Congratulations?" I pointed to it.

"Oh, no, we're not engaged," she laughed. "It's a promise ring."

"From him?" I asked, pointing to Mason.

"No, my dad, but Mason's in full support of it," she said.

I nodded and turned around.

"Wait, Ems, you should come see the movie with us," she stopped me.

"No thanks, I don't feel like being a third wheel," I said and went home.

How could someone be just so perfect? Jamie and Mason had the sickening couple image everyone wanted and I hated it. Mom was asleep so I sat on my bed and sketched in my journal. My phone buzzed and it was a random number inviting me to a party. I accepted and got ready for it.

I showed up to the party and people were out by the pool, dancing in the living room, everything. Someone gave me a drink and I chugged it.

I started feeling lightheaded and the guy took me to a room. I knew what was about to happen, so I tried to stay awake and fight him. I kneed him in between his legs and tried to make a run for it. I managed to stumble out of the room and someone caught me, I wasn't sure who. Everything was fuzzy and I blacked out.

I woke up and I wasn't in the hospital and I wasn't in my bed. I looked around and that Ben guy was handing me a cup.

"No," I snapped.

"It's water, I promise," he said taking a sip and then putting a straw in for me.

I tasted it and he was right. "What happened?"

"You got drugged at a party and Ricky Thomas tried to get with you. You got away, barely, but you got away and I brought you here and someone called the cops on Ricky," he explained.

I nodded and drank my water.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Fine, thanks," I said.

"Do you want a ride home?" He asked.

"Home is the last place I want to be," I shook my head.

"Okay, well, if you need anything let me know," he said walking away.

"Wait, where's your parents?" I asked.

"Arkansas for work. Be back in three days," he said and left.

I looked at my phone and all of this hate was driving me nuts. Someone tagged me in a video and I clicked on it. It was from the party and they had made it seem like I was trying to get with other guys and at the end, a girl wearing a paper bag got in front of the camera and said, "I'm Emma Barns and I'm a hoe!"

I clicked away and drank my water so I wouldn't cry.
