"Oh, Emma, I'm so sorry," Carrie said as I told her what happened.

"I have a lot of his traits, Carrie," I sniffed. I was crying hard. "My mom can't possibly love me."

She hugged me and rubbed my back. "She does. I promise you she does."

I cried in her shoulder. "What do I do?"

"You just move on, I guess," she shrugged. "And dump Liam."

"But I like Liam," I said.

"Oh, come on, Ems. You're so much better than him. All he ever wants from you is sex," she said.

I folded my arms and breathed.

"You know I'm right," she said.

"Well, it's not like any other guy is knocking at my door," I said.

"That Ben guy's cute," she said.

"He's not into me though. I'm staying with Liam because he loves me," I said.

"Do what you want. But you're gonna get hurt," she said.

"No I won't and I'll prove it to you," I said leaving.

I walked to Liam's house and knocked on his door. He opened the door and smirked at me. "What's up, babe?"

"Not much," I said. "You wanna go do something?"

"I have an idea," he kissed me and pulled me inside. He shut the door and laid me on the couch.

"Not this," I whispered.

"Why don't you ever wanna do this?" He asked.

"Because I'm just not ready," I said.

"Well, when will you be ready?" He asked.

"I don't know," I said.

"Then you know what? Give me a call when you do," he said and I left.

Carrie was right. I couldn't tell her that, but she was. I started walking home and saw a party going on. Exactly what I needed. I went in and acted like I knew everyone. A guy came up to me and kissed my cheek. "Where's your boyfriend?"

"We broke up," I said.

He went to kiss me but a different guy pushed him down. It was Ben. He looked at me and my eyes were wide.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said. "I guess I shouldn't have come."

I started to leave and turned down the sidewalk that would lead me to my house. I went in and Mom and Mason were waiting up.

"What're y'all doing awake?" I asked.

"Carrie called," Mom said.

I rolled my eyes.

"Where were you?" Mom asked.

"Walking," I said and went in my room.

"I'm not done talking to you," Mom said.

"Well I'm done talking to you," I snapped.

"You will not talk to me like that!" She shot, coming in my room. "Now where were you?"

"Like you care!" I blurted.

"What do you mean 'like I care'?" She asked.

"You don't care! You can't care!" I yelled.

"I don't understand," she said.

"Mason is perfect!" I spat. "He's the son you've always dreamed of! He's your pride and joy! And I'm the daughter who reminds you of the guy that gave me to you!"

It was dead silent in the room. Mom was shocked by what I'd said. "I don't--"

"I visited him this morning. I'm just like him! And you don't love me. It makes sense now. So you can go," I snapped.

"Emma, I've always loved you," Mom said.

"Really? So that's why Mason is on this giant pedestal and I'm just expected to be less than him?" I asked.

"You're not less than Mason," she said.

"Oh really? Mason's a good boy with good grades and a good girlfriend. I'm a bad girl with okay grades and a horny boyfriend!" I said, more mad at myself and sat on the bed.

"Whoa, Liam tried to--"

"He wanted to, but I said no and he let me go. Look I really don't wanna talk about this anymore," I hid under the blankets and cried myself to sleep.

So she finally opened up to her mom! More of this to come! And sorry I haven't been posting. I've been dealing with some stuff, but this book is halfway done! Who can guess the ending?
