Agatha felt someone's hand on her chest as her vision blurred and suddenly she snapped up, gravity seeming to reverse for a quick second. Her muscles tingled as if recovering from poor blood circulation. Her brain took a second to allow her eyes to see as she lurched forward. Her vision cleared and she found Rio's face in front of hers. Agatha stumbled as her legs briefly gave out underneath her, but Rio caught her before she fell.

"Careful," Rio said as she steadied Agatha. "Take a second to get used to the atmosphere and gravity here."

Agatha opened her mouth to reply but the words were lost on her tongue as she looked around. She was in the middle of a forest, but not a normal forest. It was vibrant, the plants around them unearthly and bright.

"It's not her time to go yet!" Rio turned and yelled behind her, making Agatha jump. Her nerves stood on end from the sudden change in environment, but they only grew as she looked around Rio's head.

"This is the idiot you chose?" The creature in front of them said. It looked like a man, but as he stood up from his kneeling position he revealed he was much taller than any human. Aside from his height, his purple skin made it even more apparent that he was an alien.

An alien. Agatha was on a different planet and in the presence of an alien.

"She's not an idiot," Rio said, putting herself in front of Agatha, who still peaked out from behind her. "And even if she were, she would still be so much better than you."

The alien sighed in his low voice. "What ever made you hate me, Lady Death? You raised me to be your killer. You saw greatness in me. Why don't you return my love?"

"This isn't love," Rio retorted with venom. "It's a twisted game of give and take. I was foolish to entertain it for even a second."

"I'm making the world a better place and benefitting you at the same time," the alien held out his hand, revealing a yellow stone glowing in the palm of his hand. "Everything will finally be as it should."

"You don't know what you're doing with that," Rio replied. "I know you think you know, but you have no idea. You're just a kid playing God right now."

"I was able to pick her out from the billions of others," the alien pointed to Agatha. He sneered. "Until you shoved her soul back in her body."

"I told you, it's not her time to go yet."

So that was what had happened. Agatha was almost killed by... the stone. Agatha's eyes lay on the stone in the alien's purple hand. She could feel the power radiating from it.

It was also what she had felt a moment ago, the crushing energy that wrapped around her. It was what had almost killed her. From halfway across the galaxy, no less. She forced her eyes away, turning to Rio.

"Who is this?" Agatha whispered in Rio's ear. "Your Ex?"

"Yup." Rio sighed, rolling her eyes. She gestured to the alien. "Agatha, meet Thanos."

I pulled from the comics for this one.
