Chapter two!

Ink- 1st person

The car didn't do much good against the freezing-soaked clothes I wore. They were covered in mud from when I had passed out in a dirty puddle and my head was throbbing with everything felt heavy. My bones ached every time I shifted uncomfortably in the chair. All I wanted was to close my eyes and sleep, trying to forget the horrors of yesterday and the pain. In the back of my mind, I knew I was missing school and I might have to call in sick for my jobs. That wouldn't be fun...

My nonexistent stomach swirled with nausea as the car halted in front of the police station. I felt dizzy, cold, tired, and I really wanted to go home. To lay in my bed and get rest...

Dream, the nice police officer from before, opened the door to let me out. I barely registered that I was supposed to leave, blankly staring up at the other.

"Are you ok?" Dream said nervously, looking down at me from where they held the door open. It took me a couple of seconds to realize he was talking to me.

"Yeah... just tired hehe" I wobbly stood up and Dream held my shoulder to stabilize me. I leaned against their vest, which was surprisingly comfortable.

"I have some spare clothes if you want them?" Dream spoke up, looking down at my miserable state.

"Oh.. that's really nice of you..." I smiled, the thought of warm clothes was like heaven itself.

Dream leaned down to get my bag, tossing it over their shoulder as he wrapped a hand around my waist and walked me inside. The chill fall air fades behind the two as the door closes. Ink let out a sigh of relief, resting his head on Dream's shoulder.

"Are you sure you're ok?" Dream looked over at me.

"I don't know..." I mumbled, head pounding, eyelights swirling into different shapes.

"Can you get into new clothes without my help?" The yellow cop asked and I nodded exhaustedly. He smiled and put me down in a chair that was in some sort of office. I didn't notice much through the tired pain I felt. Dream had left the door open and soon came back with some clothes, which I took quickly.

"Do you want to put them on in here?" They asked me and I nodded in agreement, not wanting to move much. Dream left the room, closing the door behind them, as I stood up to change into the outfit. It was a simple black T-shirt and jeans that were a size too big yet it was better than the soaked sweater. Finishing up I reached for the warm blanket again and curled up in the chair, trying to get myself warm. My head still pounded painfully with every blink but I felt a little better and less dirty. Next to my form lay my bag, I grabbed and opened it. Everything seemed to be the same, yet I couldn't find my phone at all. I felt myself bite the inside of my cheek. Well fuck, those robbers must have taken it when I passed out. I'm so stupid I should have just ran, then this wouldn't have been happening.

Yet my laptop, wallet, art supplies, and school stuff seemed untouched. If they were robbing why didn't they just take everything? I had no idea.

Dream knocked before he walked back inside the office with two coffees in hand, putting one down next to me as he sat across from me. Cold hands wrapped around the hot cup and I let out a sigh of relief, the warmth filling my body as I took a sip.

"I'm sorry if it's too sweet I didn't know how you like it" he rubbed the back of his head.

"Oh no it's perfect... I really needed this, thank you..." I smiled, warmth flowing through my ribcage.

"I'm glad I can help, you look a lot better too, less about to turn into an ice cube" he smiled and I felt myself blush in embarrassment. Did I really look that bad?

"Well thank you anyway, do I have to pay you or something?" I asked nervously, I didn't have the money if I did.

"Oh of course not! It's my pleasure to help you, it's what I do" Dream reassured me and I felt my shoulders sag as I sighed in relief. "Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions about what happened?" They asked, putting their coffee down and turning on their computer.

"Oh.. uh yea go ahead" I nervously smiled. What if I get a question wrong or something?

"Well, can you tell me what happened? Or what happened before I found you passed out?" Dream asked, looking at the computer screen before him and typing.

I looked at the coffee, absorbing the heat from it. "Well.. I was walking home when I saw the two people that broke out of that store. One has a gun so I hid in an alleyway-"

"Did you see any features that stood out to you?" Dream interrupted me.

"Um.. they were skeleton monsters like us... and they were wearing jackets? It was hard to see through the rain and I was panicked... but.. one had ashy colored bones, they were..." I paused thinking about it... their eyes staring at me like I was their prey... the light that reflected on their face. I sighed, pushing the thoughts away of the mystery man. I'd rather not think about it too much, despite how abstract and interesting they looked.

"Ehmm.. ink?" Dream asked me and I looked back at them.

"Oh yeah that's it, I hid in that alleyway and they found me.. said something about a phone before they found me and knocked me out. That's all I remember about it" I nervously fiddled with the blanket.

Dream nodded to me and turned back to typing, silence filling the room. "Well..." Dream began "your free to go and if we need to contact you do you have a number I can use?"

I thought for a second before giving them my number, despite not having a phone on me. Dream nodded and wrote it down.

"Thank you for the coffee, by the way, it was really nice of you..." I smiled, getting up. Dream nodded back and stood up as well walking me to the front of the station. "Oh.. do you want me to bring these clothes back?" I asked and Dream chuckled.

"No, feel free to keep them as you like," they said patting me on the shoulder before opening the door for me. I smiled and walked out before leaving, the crisp air blowing by as I let out another shiver.

Dream- 3rd person

"Who was that?" Core said from behind

"Oh- chief!" Dream nodded to Core, smiling. "That was Ink Comyet, I found him passed out and decided that he might be a suspect. I interviewed him" Dream finished and Core thought.

"hmm.. if any more trouble comes up with him keep an eye on him. Any clue would help us now"

Dream nodded in agreement.
