DIANA SAT BY THE TALL WINDOW OF HER ROOM, gazing out over the palace grounds with a distant expression. the past few weeks had been a whirlwind of stolen moments with felix, each one more thrilling—and more dangerous—than the last. but as each day passed, she felt the weight of her responsibilities growing heavier, and the pressure to uphold her royal image becoming more intense. her life was bound by rules, expectations, and unspoken codes, and yet felix seemed to slip through all those barriers with ease.

that afternoon, as diana prepared for another royal function—one of her father's political gatherings at the palace—she felt a surge of tension building within her. the sense of freedom she had felt during her secret outings with felix was slipping away, replaced by the rigid structure of palace life. she adjusted her gown, a shimmering silver piece that accentuated her graceful frame, and took a deep breath.

the knock on her door made her heart jump. it was julia, as usual, but diana noticed a worried expression on her lady-in-waiting's face.

"your highness," julia said softly, glancing over her shoulder as if ensuring no one was around. "there's  something you need to see."

intrigued and slightly alarmed, diana followed julia out of her room and down a series of hallways. julia led her into a small sitting room and handed her a folded newspaper. the headline made diana's blood run cold: royal romance? mysterious meeting sparks rumours about princess diana and kpop star.

diana felt her stomach tighten as she scanned the article, her hands trembling. the article recounted her secret meeting with felix at the café, describing the "intimate nature" of their time together and speculating on the consequences of such a relationship. there were no photographs, thankfully, but the fact that someone had witnessed them and reported it was enough to make her heart race with fear.

"how did they...?" she whispered, barely able to find her voice.

julia placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "your highness, there are always people watching. it's unfair, but it's the reality of your position."

diana nodded, her mind racing. "if my parents or grandmother see this..."

julia's gaze was steady, calm. "for now, there's nothing concrete. it's all speculation. but you must be cautious. if this becomes public knowledge, it could jeopardise everything."

diana swallowed, nodding. she understood the gravity of the situation, but part of her refused to let go of the happiness she had found in felix's company. their connection was unlike anything she had ever known—simple, honest, and real.
