THE TENSION HAD ONLY GROWN OVER THE FOLLOWING WEEKS. though the photograph hadn't yet surfaced, diana couldn't shake the sense that someone, somewhere, held their fate in their hands. but tonight, as she sat in her flat with felix, she allowed herself to forget the looming shadows, even if only for a few precious hours.

they sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by takeout boxes and flickering candles. she leaned back, laughing as felix recounted a particularly funny moment from his last concert, his eyes bright with joy.

"and then," he said, wiping away tears of laughter, "i turned around and saw that minho had somehow tripped over nothing, just right in the middle of his part. the entire crowd gasped, and i just couldn't hold it in. i started laughing on stage."

diana shook her head, giggling. "oh, poor minho. must've been embarrassing for him."

"he was so mad at me afterward," felix replied, a mischievous glint in his eye. "but it was worth it. sometimes i think he secretly loves it when things go wrong. makes life interesting."

they shared a smile, the world outside their private sanctuary fading away. for a moment, it was easy to forget who they were, the weight of their responsibilities, the complexities of their lives. here, in this cozy corner of her flat, they were just two people in love, laughing and sharing stories, savoring each other's presence.

but as the night wore on and the laughter quieted, reality crept back in. diana glanced at her phone, the empty screen a stark reminder of the silence that had settled between her and her family. it had been weeks since she'd last spoken to her father, the growing distance only adding to the weight she felt pressing on her.

felix seemed to sense her shift in mood, his gaze softening as he reached for her hand. "hey, what's on your mind?"

she hesitated, struggling to find the words. "sometimes i wonder if i'm being selfish," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "by keeping this, us, a secret... i'm putting my family in a difficult position. if they found out, if the public found out... it would change everything."

"and do you regret it?" he asked quietly, his thumb tracing soothing circles on her hand.

she looked into his eyes, the warmth and reassurance she found there easing the ache in her chest. "no," she whispered. "not for a second. but that doesn't make it any easier."

they sat in silence, the weight of her confession lingering between them. felix pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her as they leaned back against the couch. she closed her eyes, finding comfort in his steady heartbeat, the familiar scent of him, the way his presence seemed to calm the storm within her.

"we'll figure it out," he murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "we'll take it one day at a time, one step at a time. as long as we have each other, we can handle anything."
