THAT EVENING, AS THE SOFT GLOW OF TWILIGHT settled over london, diana found herself slipping out of the palace once more. with each covert meeting, the thrill and the risk seemed to increase, but so did the longing in her heart. tonight was no exception. she had agreed to meet felix at a hidden rooftop terrace overlooking the city—a place where they could talk without fear of interruption, a secret world just for them.

as diana made her way through the maze of london streets, she was acutely aware of every shadow and glance that seemed to follow her. every step felt charged, the cool evening air a stark contrast to the warmth bubbling within her. she couldn't shake the thought of the disapproval her family would undoubtedly have, especially with whispers growing louder about her royal responsibilities.

at the rooftop, felix waited, pacing in quiet anticipation. when he finally caught sight of diana, his face softened, and he hurried to meet her. "you made it," he whispered, wrapping her in a protective embrace. diana let out a small sigh, feeling the tension melt away in his arms.

"i couldn't stay away," she replied, her voice barely audible. "it's getting harder, though. the palace staff... they're watching me more closely."

felix pulled back to look at her, concern clouding his gaze. "diana, i don't want to put you at risk. if this is too much..."

but diana shook her head, a spark of defiance lighting her eyes. "i don't care about the risks, felix. being with you... it's the only time i feel truly free."

they took their seats at a small table, the city lights casting a romantic glow over the terrace. felix reached across, holding her hand tightly. "then we'll make this work, no matter what. even if it means sneaking around and keeping secrets."

for hours, they talked under the stars, sharing stories and dreams, finding comfort in the stolen moments. diana laughed as felix recounted tales from his life on tour, the exhausting travel schedule, the endless rehearsals. it was a world so different from her own, yet in these quiet moments, they felt perfectly in sync.

"i never imagined this," diana confessed after a pause, her gaze fixed on the horizon. "that someone like you could make me feel this way. it's like... i've been waiting my whole life, and now you're here."

felix's face softened, a warmth in his gaze that made diana's heart race. "you're everything i've been searching for, diana. it feels like fate brought us together."

they fell into a comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other's presence. as the night deepened, diana felt a bittersweet ache settle in her chest. every moment with felix was perfect, but it came with the constant reminder of the obstacles they faced.

"my family..." she began hesitantly, breaking the silence. "they're planning something. i can feel it. they're already talking about my future, about suitors... someone they'd find more 'suitable.'"
