I'm sorry it's not exactly Wither Husbands angst but it is their fluff! I kinda went off the rails on an old forgotten ESMP S2 AU.

Sausage's Perspective-

"Visit anytime!" Sausage called as Princess Katherine left, sailing away in a boat filled with boxes of banners that she had ordered.

Sausage smiled proudly and turned around, looking at the flourishing town.

Sanctuary was building a name for itself, one full of peace and love; he could't've been happier.

Well...that was until he realized one important piece missing.

fWhip hadn't visited in a couple days, and it worried him.

Having known fWhip since he and Jimmy were teens, he knew the goblin loved to spend his time tinkering away in the cave.

Sausage still remembered the exact night he and Jimmy met.

-

Sausage panted as he ran, feeling his heart thump in his chest. The screams and begs of people rang in his ears and he tripped, falling onto the jungle ground.

He groaned and propped himself up on his elbows, seeing a faint figure in the distance.

"H-hi! Please, can you help me!?" He shouted and the boy walked closer, a horse following him.

The sheriff hat fell over his eyes, clearly too big to fit his head. He tipped it up and looked at the bruised teen below.

"Howdy." He said, his country accent thick.

"H-hi um- "

A loud explosion was heard in the distance and the cowboy looked scared.

"P-please, help me." Sausage begged and the cowboy mounted his steed, helping Sausage up and riding off.

-

They had stayed the night in a dusty Mesa town and they had grown very close. Sausage helped making new tools for Jimmy and they learned to fight together, never wanting to be apart for too long.

Soon, a railroad was built to help connect their town with everyone else.

Sausage had explained how he wanted to explore, but Jimmy didn't want to leave the town he felt he belonged in.

"I'll make sure to visit, promise." Sausage vowed before leaving on the train.

-

Unfortunately, that promise was forgotten.

Sausage got attached to his own town and slowly more and more people started to look down on Jimmy. When he got a deputy, it was better but after that-

-

Sausage stepped onto the dusty ground and looked around, his eyes falling on the taller male riding a horse.

Sausage smiled and walked over, but he couldn't get a word in when Jimmy cut him off.

"What, back to make fun of me?" He asked.

"W-what? No, I'm here to visit!"

"You never cared, did you?"

Sausage froze.

"I was here struggling with everyone picking on me, and you stand there like nothing was happening as you dance around your pretty little buildings."

Sausage frowned.

"Look, I'm sorry alright? I got caught up in my own stuff- "

"And I heard you got with my old deputy! Not only did he do probably the worst damage to this town and me, but he's a traitor. You're seriously in love with him?"

Sausage glared at him and he scoffed.

"You're really choosing to argue over something like this?"

"Yeah...I am."

"Learn to pick your battles, Jimmy. Best to be happy for me then hold onto a grudge that he apologized about."

"Apologies don't fix damage."

"It's not the apology that's the problem, it's the fact you're not accepting them."

Sausage turned back to the train and glanced back at his old friend.

"It's up to you to whine about my decision, but I'm not changing it."

-

The familiar green dark glow caused Sausage to peek his eyes open, seeing he arrived in the Goblands.

The cart slowed to a stop and Sausage hopped out, his feet echoing around the cavern.

He flew down to the main ground and saw fWhip building a hut around the end portal.

Sausage cleared his throat and fWhip jumped, turning around.

"Oh- hi Sausage!! What're you doing here?"

"Coming to check on you. What're you working on?" Sausage asked.

"Just exploring and- " fWhip cut himself off as Sausage took his hand, leading him away.

"Wha- hey what are you-?"

"Keep talking, I'm listening." Sausage flashed him a smirk and fWhip glared at him.

"Slow down, I'm okay." fWhip tried to tug his hand back but Sausage was stubborn and led him out of the giant cave.

fWhip winced as the sun reached his eyes and he shaded them with his hands.

"See? I knew you haven't been out for days." Sausage said, folding his arms with a proud smile.

"What do you want, a medal?"

"I wouldn't mind a prize." Sausage said, leaning in.

fWhip rolled his eyes. "You're so cheesy."

"Aw come on! You know you like being outside, you just forget what time it is down there."

"Yeah, almost like I'm entirely in the dark and can never tell the time."

"And that's why I'm here." Sausage said and fWhip chuckled.

"You care too much."

"And you care too little." Sausage clapped back and fWhip laughed.

"What am I gonna do with you?" fWhip shook his head.

"I ask myself the same thing every day."

fWhip glared at him and Sausage chuckled.

"Now you said something about a prize?" Sausage smirked.

fWhip rolled his eyes.

"Alright, alright, fine." He smiled, planting a quick kiss on his lips.
