Hey guys! So sorry I haven't updated in a long time. I've been super busy lately. Here's the chapter, enjoy!

Scarlet's POV

"Dad?" I say. My dad was handcuffed and was in front of me. I was still tied down to the chair but once I saw an opening I was going to snap the chains and get the hell out of here.

"Now we can do this easy way or the hard way." The man in front of me begins." I ask you a question, you answer if you don't, he gets it." He says he's turning to my dad.

"What's your name?" He asked again. I didn't think he had it in him to assault my dad. He is a well-respected man high up in the system. Everything is about order they wouldn't dare hurt my dad. Clearly they already knew who and what I was and were only trying to get me to say myself.

"Alright then." He walked over to my dad, who was struggling to get free. The man brought his fist back.

"Scarlet, Scarlet Haven," I said stopping him. The Man looks back and smiles.

"Good, how old are you?" He smirks and continues on.

"18" I answer.

"Anything you want to admit?" He asks probably hoping that I would say I'm a dragon rider. That's what he wants then that's what he'll get.

"You're an idiot," A confused look came over his face. I snapped the chains holding me in place with a dragon's strength. I knocked out the man in front of me. The two men holding my father let him go and came towards me. I managed to avoid the first one but the second man hit me good on my side. I turned and connected with his temple knocking him out. The other one try to tackle me down but I swung my elbow back and he dropped the ground. I untied my father ropes and made sure was okay.

"We need to go." Is all I say. He nods, the door was heavy metal and locked shut. I put my power in kicking at the hinges. They broke and I was able to open the door.

"I know a shortcut out, follow me." My dad says. I follow his lead as we run we pass by a control room. The other riders. I stop and take out the guards by surprise. I slip into the control room knocking out anyone who stood in my way. I needed to get something.

"Dad I need your help, please," I plead with him. He's reluctant but nods.

"Where can I find any information on the Dragon riders being imprisoned?"

"Imprisoned? There is no prison for riders... there isn't even any in the society," My dad answers. He's telling the truth, I know if he were lying.

"Nothing? There's no type of holding center anywhere?" I question.

"There was one outside of the society but that shut down 10 years ago," My dad says shaking his head.

"I need the information on that place," I say. I didn't believe they just shut down a building. The society never just closed buildings they would always be repurposed. My dad dug around in a filing cabinet. He stopped and handed me a thin vanilla folder. I opened it there was only a few papers inside. I took them out and folded them down so I could put them in my pocket. I put the file back and shut the drawer.

"Okay let's go," I say to my dad. He leads me down the hall and stops at double doors.

"Straight through here." He says I burst through the doors hoping to see sunlight but instead. I get something worse. Dozens of soldiers with their weapons all trained on me. I looked over at my father, his eyes were on the ground. My father, my father led me straight into a trap.

"Dad..." I mutter so heartbroken.

"Just go with them, I worked out a deal. They won't hurt you they just information" my dad says reasoning with me. I shake my head at him and start to back away from my father.
