Hi guys! Sorry, that last chapter was a little short. But enjoy this chapter.

Aaron's POV

When my father got shot all hell broke loose.

People were now running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Medical came in right away they took my father away and gave us all blueish cocktail to drink. Everyone in the room is supposed to drink it.

"What's this for?" I ask the nurse.

"We can't be positive whether or not that dragon rider carried that fungus on her. To be safe everyone is going to drink this. You'll be immune," The nurse explains to all of us. Everyone in the room drank. What my father had said about the dragons rider dying was what I hoped was a bluff. I didn't think my father to be so cruel to poison the remaining dragon riders. I didn't know my father as well as I thought. I wasn't even aware there was a prison for dragon riders. I needed some answers to my questions and if I was right I might have a way to give Scarlet what she wants. I just hope I have enough time.

I left my father's office and went to go look for some information. I was reading through the little files we had on dragon riders. I was on the last file when I came across the prison the dragon riders were being held in. I kept on reading and I wish I hadn't. My father had a poison made to target dragon riders only. This fungus was grown in that dark basement the riders were kept in. My father had arranged everything just this week, he must have known Scarlet was going to that prison. He had everyone there drink the same blue liquid so they wouldn't be affected.

I never knew, these secrets my father had kept from me. I could get the cure to Scarlet and then maybe she wouldn't rain fire on us... I don't think she would do that though, would she? My father had a lot to answer for but regardless of that peace what we need. I kept rummaging through files until I found the papers that contained the inventory of where the antidotes were kept. There were 8 antidotes left, it wasn't a lot but Scarlet could still use them. I looked at the date on the corner it was dated 2 days ago... This is old, that number wasn't correct. There were 7 people in that room when Scarlet came. There's only one cure left.

.....

I had one of the nurses get the last antidote. I went to my office and was arranging for me to go and meet Scarlet so I could give the cure to her. I was about to call in a helicopter to fly me to Scarlet's cove when I heard a voice outside my window.

"Aaron Alaric! Get your ass out here!"

Oh no

.....

Scarlet POV

I got a group of dragons to come with me back to society. I needed to get the real antidote. I stood outside looking up through a window. That was Aaron in that room for sure. The dragons were taking care of the army men behind me. I yelled at the top of my lungs and waited for an answer. I got no reply, well I guess we're doing this the hard way. I jumped up and latched onto the window cell and pulled myself up. The first thing I saw was a startled look on Aaron's face.

" Where is it?" I ask, knowing he would know what I was talking about and what I would do to get it.

"I have it," Aaron says. Do I believe him?

"If you are lying I will burn you and this entire town to the ground," I say in a deadly tone. I wouldn't really but he needed to know I was serious.

"I'm-I'm not," He says and holds out a single vial, "I'm sorry there's only one."

I took it. I thought for a second he might be lying but, I know he's not. There's only enough for one person... A wave of dread washes over me. I can only save one person. My grandma has to live I can't lose her but, what about the others they deserve to live as much as she does.

"Drink it, you'll become immune. You'll live," He tells me.

"There are other people that got sick because of your father, I'm not sick it will go to them," I say.

"Scarlet, I read through what the fungus does. By the time you get back, I don't think affected riders will be alive. Drink it," He says trying to reason me.

"I'm leaving, if the society comes after us, this entire place will turn to ashes," I say making sure my point is clear.

"You won't be bothered, no more hunters no more killing" Aaron promises.  "You have my word" Aaron holds out his hand. I hesitate but I shake it. I nod then I jump back out the window and call back the dragons. I hop on Bane and we race home.

....

I didn't wait for bane to land I jumped off, I looked around and I saw blankets over the bodies of the sick riders. They're gone... I sprinted off towards the cave to be by my grandmother's side. She laid there still, her pulse was faint but it was there. I took the vial out of my pocket and popped off the cap. I hesitated for a moment. There were still other riders, they weren't sick but who knows if they would become sick. Aaron's voice also echoed in the back of my mind, drink it.

I couldn't drink it. Slowly I poured the cure into my grandmother's mouth. She swallowed it and her eyes opened
