Gleen's POV

When Crys heard about Mavi's sudden disappearance, she immediately instructed me to follow her in Manila. I really don't have any choice but to do what she said.

It's been a long time since I saw the terror look on her face. I want to complain about it. But I just can't.

I love Crys as much as I love Mavi and those important people are all I need. I am willing to give up anything for them. Even though I know they can't do the same for me. And that's okay.

The plane just landed a few hours ago. I was trying to call Mavi but her phone is unattended. Of course I got worried about her.

I know Mavi as a person who is always on her phone. Either for business or entertainment.

I started to dial Crys. A few rings and it got connected.

"I can't contact her. I've been trying to call her since earlier." I explained, trying to mask the nervousness in my voice.

"I also can't call her, even Avi. We are all worried I know. But let's think logically about it. Aside from that, we have another problem. Avi flew there also, and even Jeremiea was missing. I have a feeling that she will be in Lynsaie's. I will cover for Avi and Je. You go to Lynsaie." I carefully listen to her words. I can't miss any words. I need to make sure this will work.

I need to call someone for help.

Avi's POV

I've been trying to call Mavi since yesterday but she's not answering. I'm getting worried. I know her, she tends to avoid things when something is bothering her.

There's a lot of what if's in my mind.

I know my mom will be very mad if I leave without saying anything but what can I do. She will not let me go to Manila even if I begged her.

I am currently packing my stuff because I have my flight tonight to Manila.

I can feel it. She needs me.

Good thing I asked for her address. Tomorrow morning would be my flight.

"God, things I do for love." I whispered to myself.

Shayne's POV

When Mavi and I went separately. I haven't heard anything from her since then. I feel like I lighten up the load I had in me.

I actually don't know what would happen after this but I have no regrets.

She deserves to know the truth. That her best friend was the one who stabbed her at the back.

I shouldn't interfere with them. But doing something is just the same as doing nothing. I will just be guilty either way.

Lynsaie is a good partner. But she needs to pay for what she's done.

Betrayal is not something we can just do and act innocently.

I may not be the best partner for not tolerating her. But I am surely a good person to tell the truth.

Then I heard the sound of the door opening.

There are two people having an argument from the tone of their voice I can guess they are both mad.

I just remain quiet inside the bedroom as I dialed someone.

"They are here."

Crys POV

It's been 2 days since Avi and Je left without them telling us.

Tita had been restless since then. She's worried for her daughter and I understand that.

We were having dinner. I decided to stay here for the meantime because something might happen to Tita.

To our surprise, Avi suddenly barged in.

She looks like a mess. Her eyes were red and puffy. She seems so devastated and depressed.
Tita didn't even know what to say as her eyes widened and mouth agape. I immediately went to  her to comfort her but she held her hand up to stop me.

"Mavi is already married. I don't know what to think anymore. " She said as she bit her lips to prevent her sob from coming out. She was expecting them to be surprised just as much as she was. But they didn't react. Her mother looked down, while Crys stared at her with sympathy. She gasped in disbelief as she shook her head.

"You guys know about this? All of you but me? How could you do this to me? You made me feel so stupid! " She yelled. Her tears didn't even stop flowing from her eyes.

"Does Jeremeia know? You all know about this? How about Gleen?" She asked and again they didn't say anything.

"Don't you dare to lie, I'm so done with this." She gritted her teeth as she uttered these words.

"Mom? Why do you guys just let me be hurt by her? You gave her the permission to make me feel foolish." Her mouth became dry and her face turned sour. The hatred in her eyes was so strong.

"Who is Mavi? Why do you trust her that much? Why do all of you know her? Even Crys? What kind of drama is this? And Gleen I heard they were talking about someone from Mavi's past. Does it mean she knows Mavi so well? But why are guys acting like Mavi is just as simple as a visitor? What can't you guys just be honest with me? I don't have the energy to understand every single thing about this. " She can't stop herself from yelling until she can barely breathe. She feels betrayed again. She don't know what to do. She doesn't know who to trust anymore.

"And no Crys, I won't take any medicine from you. You are making it worse. I won't let this pass this time." She immediately stopped Crys who was about to walk into her.

"Tell me the truth or I will find the answer on my own. That's your decision to make. " She turned to her mother with a lot of emotions.

flashback

August 5, 2024

Avi went straight to Mavi's condo hoping that Mavi was there but to her surprise no one was there. Luckily the door was unlocked.

Avi was hesitant to enter at first but eventually went in when she felt the urge.

She roamed around to look for Mavi but she saw no one. She decided to sit on the couch first.

She can sense some familiarity but she can't pinpoint it. She ignored her feelings. She pulled her phone from her pocket to call Mavi.

She dialed the number and she heard a phone ringing somewhere inside the house. Then she found herself inside the bedroom. She saw Mavi's phone that was placed on the mini wooden drawer beside the bed.

"Why does she leave it here?" the frustration builds inside her. Avi was so desperate to see her.

She was about to walk away when something caught her attention. The drawer was slightly open and she saw something that confused her.

"Why is there a marriage contract here?" Avi's emotions started to stir inside.

And then she saw Mavi's name written on the paper.

She covers her mouth in disbelief. The sadness swamped in her eyes.

"How?" She quickly wipes her tears.

"I'm in love with someone else's wife?" She uttered much disgust in herself.

"Argh!" She yelled on the top of her lungs. As she immediately walked out of the room.
