Warmth, a feel of cosiness and comfort given by someone who cares, bright colours that lighten up your day and reassure you for a better future. not knowing what is to come. The future can't be predicted but it must be well spent. Everything must be said when given a chance so no regrets may occur.

'What was that?' I asked calmly. He smiled and said nothing. 'Why did place his hands on mine, was he trying to comfort me or something I thought.

I removed my hands from the table and place them on my lap clasping them together. Leaving awkwardness in the air. He cleared his throat and spoke.

"Emm, I think we should go now since we are done here" he said and stood up placing the check on the table and signalling the waitress.

Taking the lead with me behind we left the diner. He kept his pace slow and walked side by side with me. We didn't talk we just stayed in the silence

'I must thank him for the food and the company I think I really needed it, but how will I say it he has been kind to me ever since and yet I can't say a simple 'thank you' It isn't that hard' I was in a dilemma with myself not sure what to do feeling reserved

"You know it's okay I don't need a 'thank you' your actions showed everything already". He said directly to me. I was stunned about how he knew what I was thinking. I looked at him shocked. I recovered from my shock and decided I would just still thank him.

"Than..."I started say then heard

"NOVIE ADAMS!"  I heard my name shouted from afar. I knew who it was. I was trembling with fear in my eyes, realizing who it was I turned quickly and saw him, my nightmare. The beast that took away my solitude every time I gained it again.

He stormed to me walking with large steps and stood just in front of me.

"WHERE...HAVE...YOU ...BEEN?" He asked angrily looking down at me

"I...I...I... " I stuttered

"SPEAK UP GOD DAMN IT!" He yelled at me in between his teeth making me tremble more. My voice quivered more making it difficult for me to speak.  He grabbed me by my arm and yanked me forward.

"Get in the car right this instant." He spoke

"Excuse me, sir but that's not how to treat a lady" I heard Jason say behind me I turned sharply and shook my head at him signalling him not to speak further 'Please' I begged him with my eyes. But he neither noticed me nor stopped speaking to my father,

"Pardon me? And who are you?" My father said arching his eyebrow at him and questioning him

"I am Jason Black, the Pastors nephew ,nice to meet you although I must say it was not a pleasure at all" He said frowning his face displeased.

"Sorry I didn't see you there and I would like to say this..." He gestured between himself and me " this is family business, so why don't you go on your way and leave" he said holding my arm tighter and walking away .

I felt my other hand being held and turned to see Jason holding me tightly and not wanting to let go. My father turned to see why we had stopped and saw Jason holding my hand.

"What is the meaning of this?" He asked fuming

"Let her go and talk like adults" Jason stated to my father

"Okay if you say so" and he let go of my arm. Jason also reluctantly let go.

"Since we are to speak like 'adults' why don't we make her choose for herself where she wants to go, hmm what do you think?" he adamantly said.
