"Where have you guys been?" Geon-woo asked curiously as soon as Ha-na and Woo-jin made it inside. Everyone was already at the table, nearly finished with their breakfast. All eyes were on them, and Hyeon-ju was raising an eyebrow towards the other girl, nearly teasing her."We both woke up early and decided to go for a run, I'm so sorry we're late for breakfast, Ms. Kim." Ha-na slightly bowed and took the seat available next to Geon-woo, as Woo-jin sat next to Hyeon-ju.
"No, don't worry about it honey. I'm glad you were able to get some exercise in. That means you needed it." Ms. Kim smiled endearingly, giving Ha-na a small wink as the younger girl dived into her food. Ms. Kim knew Ha-na like the back of her hand by this point. She knew if she was up early, and working out, it wasn't that great of a night. She could assume the same for Woo-jin.
Mr. Choi set his spoon down when he was finished, taking a sip of his coffee before speaking. "So, tonight you guys will move the money from the bookstore to here. We'll keep it in the basement in the safe until all of this is over." Everyone nodded in agreement. "And Ms. Kim, I've booked you a room at my orphanage until further notice. Geon-woo, you can go take a look around beforehand if you'd like." Geon-woo immediately nodded.
"Oh, but, Mr. Choi. Thank you but if you don't mind I'd really like to stay here, with you guys." She almost frowned, her gaze falling to her lap. She was already worried sick about the kids, she couldn't imagine leaving them completely during all of this.
"I think that's the safest option for you. Now that Smile Capital knows where you live, and what you look like, I'd rather you be somewhere discreet. Plus, the kids there need to try your food! They would love it, and you. If you don't want to stay under protection, go and provide for the children. You'll just be working there until it's safe to come home." Mr. Choi replied. He was very sweet, and always knew how to talk with reasoning, but his way went.
Ms. Kim actually loved the idea of going to take care of children who needed her. Of course, Geon-woo and Ha-na were her children, but orphans really needed good and strong figures in their lives. "Uh, okay. I mean, I would love to do that for them." She smiled softly, but looked to Geon-woo. She was still going to worry herself sick all day, everyday.
"Perfect, thank you." Mr. Choi said genuinely. "After you're done eating, you can head there and make sure it's up to your liking. I know you need to feel that your mother is safe too." He said, looking at Geon-woo.
"Thank you, sir. That really means a lot. Ha-na, will you come too?" Geon-woo asked, earning an immediate 'yes' from the girl. She wanted to feel as though her second-mom was okay too. This was really scary, and new, to all of them. The three of them had spent almost every single day together for six years now. It was going to be a hard adjustment, but it was the best option for now.
They all finished up their breakfast and cleared the table, Ha-na and Hyeon-ju washed the dishes as quickly as they could so they could get a move on it.
