As the three headed out of the restaurant, the air between them definitely a lot less tense then it was in the beginning, Ha-na sighed a small breath of relief. She for sure wasn't expecting to see Woo-jin, and also wasn't prepared for the conversation between them, but it was easier with Geon-woo there. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. The lunch was actually quite nice towards the end. The guys did almost all of the talking, but Ha-na was more than okay with that. She was happy to Geon-woo having such a good time with a guy friend.Woo-jin held the door for the other two, giving the other man a small grin before his eyes fell to the small girl behind him. He still couldn't quite shake the feeling in his chest, remembering everything she had told him just a few minutes ago.
He gently tugged her sleeve, causing her to stop dead in her tracks, sending him a not so subtle glare. "Can we have a word, I'll make it fast." He almost whispered, his eyes pleading.
Geon-woo looked between the two of them when he turned around, waiting for Ha-na's answer. She sighed softly before nodding at Geon-woo, giving him the cue to leave them for a few seconds. He took the hint and walked slightly ahead, giving them obviously much needed privacy.
"What?" Ha-na shot up at Woo-jin, urging him to speak.
"I'm truly so sorry. If I would've known, about all of it, I would've-"
"It's fine, Woo-jin. It's in the past. I promise I'm okay. I got through it just fine, I'm a big girl." She cut him off, holding a straight face.
"I know, I know. But I'm sorry about all of it. I left when you needed me the most. I thought about you almost every day, but I just thought you were doing fine without me. I had no idea you ended up completely alone." He stuffed his hands in his pockets, letting his head fall as he stared at his own two feet. Softly digging his toes into the concrete underneath him.
"I didn't end up alone. I met Geon-woo." She nodded her head towards the man now sitting on a bench some odd feet away, smiling softly to herself. She never would've made it without him.
"But still-" Woo-jin started, taking a small step closer as she quickly took the same step backwards.
"The past doesn't matter anymore. Like you said, let's just forget about it. You be good to Geon-woo, he hasn't had a guy friend in a long while. I think it'll be good for him. He seems to really like you. Just don't leave him, too." She exhaled, the last part coming out a bit harsher than expected. It even took her by surprise. A small tightening in her chest as she observed the wince in his eyes as he listened to her words.
"I'm willing to let it go, for real. Even through all the bullshit, we still were kids together. I still cherish that. But just know we aren't besties from this day forward." She stated simply, shifting on her foot, beginning to walk towards Geon-woo who was still sitting on the bench, people watching as usual. She was sure he was just trying his hardest not to stare at them, and try to read what was going on. She'd fill him in later.
