ZOE'S POV

Today was the day we would face her in court.

Si Astra... Ngayon ang araw na makikita ko siya ulit. At sana ito na. Ito na ang huli.

"May I go to the garden first?" Tanong ko sa aking lawyer.

I smiled at him as he nodded. "Be back after 5 minutes, the trial will start at 10 minutes"

I made my way to the gardem with my nurse. I watched the beautiful scenery outside, trying to steady my nerves.

After 5 minutes, we decided to go back as we promise.

"Hey, where have you been?"

"Diyan lang po sa garden" I said to my lawyer.

Dione's family are there for me... right here.

It's funny how I think that they will be mad at me after the incident, but here they are, inside the room, together with me, smiling.

I glanced around the room.I took a deep breath and tried to calm my nerves.

The judge entered the room, and everyone stood.

The proceedings began. Tito, who's my lawyer, started presenting our case. He spoke clearly and confidently, laying out all the evidence we had gathered.

I listened intently. Feeling a leap of hope every time he made a strong point.

"Your Honor," he began.

Slowly, I let out a sigh.

"We are here to seek justíce for my client, who was brútâlly attácked by the defendant. We have irrefutable evidence that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the defendant is guilty of the críme she is accúsed of."

The judge nodded, and Tito Nate continued.

"We will present witness testimonies and a video recording of the incident that will leave no room for doubt about the defendant's actions."

When it was my turn to testify, I walked to the witness stand. I felt my legs feeling like jelly. I'm nervous... scared... I wanted to run... But I know, I couldn't run with this. Not even now, that I want justíce to be served.

As I spoke, memories of the incídent flooded back... And I struggled to keep my composure. Lalo na't lahat ay nakatingin sa akin. Nag-aabang sa bawat sasabihin ko.

"I was at the beach, with Dione to celebrate our anniversary " I began.

"At first, I was in the seashore, enjoying the scenery of the beach when Tasha texted me that Dione is in our room now" I added.

I feel my legs a bit shaky but I still pushed through.

"While running while excitedly, I saw fire in our room, sa pinto palang ay kita na ang apoy. I tried to save them both, parehas silang nakagapos. And Astra, she's holding something, parang gamot" I closed my eyes firmly as I remembered that day.

The day I thought I would díe...

"I tried to scream for help, but Astra would not let me"

My voice trembled as I continued.

"She called me names, said I was a whóré and a bítch. She told me I deserved to díe. I was so scared... I fought back. But I was too weak..."

I glanced at Astras' direction and I saw her looking at me blankly. I can't see anything on her eyes. Even regrets... Wala. She's heartless.

"The moment I felt it was the end for me, that I couldn't take it anymore... I was out of breath... and my vision was darkening, she suddenly shouted... She was calling for help from other people. She shouted that we were dying and that she was the one who saw and saved us..."
