"Actually, I felt very happy when I heard you're back. I was thinking what should I do to make you stay with me again. I wanted to do all the means to make you stay this time. It's very crazy." he smirked and chuckled to himself.
"... I know.... I was too stupid before.. I did a lot of things without considering your feelings.." hinawakan niya ang kamay ni Eirlys saka siya bumuntong hininga. "...I had all the lapses and did not do my responsibility as a husband. I regretted it so much. I shouldn't have missed the five years being with you and seeing our son grow."
Hindi makapagsalita si Eirlys, ang tanging nagawa niya lang ay tingnan ito habang puno ng emosyon ang mga mata nito.
She wanted to hug him but she knew she'll get emotional and she doesn't want to overreact.
She can't believe hearing those from him. If she knew he felt that way before she wouldn't think of leaving the country and stay with him raising Nate together.
"Mommy!"
They both looked at the door of the room when their son entered.
Nate looked so confused seeing their faces.
"What are you looking at Mom?" tanong nito ng makita si Eirlys na nakatingin sa kisame.
She looked at Storm to let him speak pero nakangiti lang ito dahil sa sinabi ng anak saka siya umirap.
"Nothing!" prenteng sagot niya saka kinuha ang towel na nabagsak niya kanina ng hilahin siya nito.
"Let me get changed first, wait for Mommy okay." wika niya sa anak saka tumingin kay Storm at pinandilatan ito saka dumiretso sa banyo.
Nang makalabas siya nasa kama na ang anak. Storm is nowhere to be found.
"Let's go!" wika niya sa anak saka sila sabay a lumabas.
"Where's my grandson?" rinig niyang tanong ng ina ni Storm saka tumingin si Daniel sa kanya. Storm was sitting on the couch with his parents. They were all looking at them in the stairs.
Nang makalapit sa mga ito, dumiretso agad ang tingin sa mag-asawa kay Nate.
"Come to Grandma!" excited na sambit ng Ginang saka naman lumapit ang anak rito. Niyakap nito si Nate saka hinalikan sa pisngi at pinaupo sa tabi nito.
They looked so happy seeing their grandson.
Agad kumunot ang noo niya ng kumuha ang Ginang ng isang ATM card sa wallet nito at binigay kay Nate.
"This is for you. You can but anything you want. Grandma won't mind." masayang sambit ng Ginang saka niya ito nilapitan.
"Mrs. Grasso... Nate can't—"
She paused herself from speaking when everyone looked at her with confusion.
'Did I say something wrong?'
Agad siyang napangiwi ng mapagtanto. "M-Ma..." sambit niya saka mapaklang ngumiti. Narinig naman niya ang mahinang pagtawa ni Storm.
"Nate can't take that money. He's still a kid." saad niya habang nakatingin kay Nate na hawak-hawak ang ATM.
"Don't worry, it's just a small gift from us. Mahirap magpalaki ng anak lalo na at ikaw lang mag-isa. Hayaan mo na, pambawi lang namin iyan sa mga taong hindi namin siya nakasama." paliwanag nito sa malumanay na boses saka ngumiti kay Eirlys.
Hindi naman mawari ni Eirlys kung bakit ganoon na lamang ang mga ito. Inaasahan niya kasi ang ibang reaksyon na mas malala pa roon.
"Pero hindi po yun okay sa akin. Hindi ko po siya pinapahawak ng pera, it's part of how I discipline my son. We can accept gifts but not that." saad niya saka tiningnan ang anak.
