The alarm rings at 6:00 in the morning. Eirlys woke up and picked her phone from the bedside table.

'Alin ba ang mas mahirap? Ang mag-aral o ang magtrabaho?'

Eirlys would always thought that studying is just the starting point of this life's journey. The struggles you face as a student is nothing compared to the reality of life. Where you have to work hard to sustain your living since hindi ka naman pwedeng aasa nalang lagi sa parents mo. The pressure, challenges, struggles you have to face in the working place, sometimes feels traumatizing. Favoritism, nepotism, lahat-lahat yata na itawag mo present yun. Kailangan mo lang talaga tibay ng loob at good stamina to endure everything para makasurvive ka. Hindi kana gaya nung dati na pwede kang matulog ng madaling araw at gigising ng kahit anong oras na gusto mo.

It was past seven when Eirlys reached the hospital. It's where she's working as a resident doctor, if you may ask she's trying to live alone and earn money for herself.

She wanted to live the life she never tried to live before. And it's been three years ever since she moved out from her parents house.

"Good morning Doc." She smiled at the nurse who greeted her and heads to her office.

'Nephrology Department'

She's a nephrologist doctor, which specializes in internal medicine related to kidney diseases.

Naabutan niya roon ang kaibigan niyang si Verdith na naghahanda para sa operasyon nito.

"Where have you been last night? Hindi mo tinapos yung party, we had a lot of fun pa naman." Verdith asked while playing the ballpen in her hands. She turned around at hinarap si Eirlys na nag-aarrange sa table nito.

"You know I had to be early here. E ikaw hanggang 3pm lang duty mo, while I have to stay here until midnight. Hindi na ako bumalik sa loob kasi I know you won't allow me to leave." ngumiti siya rito ng mapang-asar saka umupo sa upuan niya.

"Hey, woman. Doc Gav keeps on asking me about you and I feel so annoyed. That old thug..." may pagkairitang wika nito saka ngumisi. "Hingi siya ng hingi ng number mo and I'm not sure if I did gave it to him or not. Nakalimutan ko." dagdag niya saka napakamot sa ulo habang nag-iisip.

"He already has my number." simpleng sagot niya habang abala sa mga papel na nasa mesa niya.

"He was asking for your personal number. Not the number you are using for work. Duuhh!"

Hindi na siya umimik pa at abala na sa pagbabasa saka naman bumalik sa ginagawa nito si Verdith. Pumasok naman ang nurse na mukhang nagmamadali kaya sabay silang napatingin rito.

"Doc Eirlys, sabi ni Doc Sam magsisimula na daw po ang meeting." wika nito sa kanya saka kumunot ang noo niya.

"Oh right woman. May emergency meeting kayo ng eight and it's past eight already. You should check your phone sometimes."

Kinuha niya ang phone niya saka binuksan ito.

"I forgot to charge it." wika niya saka tumayo at sinuot ang ID niya binigay naman niya kay Verdith ang phone niya. "Charge it for me, Thank you." she winked at Verdith na napangiti na lamang sa ginawa niya saka umiling.

Sumunod siya sa nurse habang nagmamadaling naglakad patungo sa elevator heading to the conference room na nasa 5th floor pa. As they were heading to the elevator nasagip ng mata niya ang mga magulang niya kaya kumunot ang noo niya. Nakapasok na sila ng elevator at pasara na ang pinto ng may kamay na humarang sa pagsara nito.

It was her parent's Personal Assistant. Kumunot ang noo nito ng makita siya at babati na sana ng umiwas siya ng tingin rito. He understands it quickly. Alam nitong ayaw niyang may makaalam sa personal life niya and along with it is about her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Valmoria gets into the elevator with her.
