"Okay but did you guys hear about Laney and Jerod?" Jhonnie asked the group.

"Oh my gosh yesss! I can't believe he kissed Simone behind the bleachers and then kissed Laney right after. If I was Laney, I would be mopping the school and the court with him." Mercedes said before biting her burger. Nilan laughed and shook her head.

"Do you always result to violence, Mercedes? That's not healthy." Symphony said.

"Well I guess i'll be one unhealthy person cause I do not care." Mercedes said shrugging, causing everyone to laugh at her.

"Anyways, are y'all excited for the daddy daughter dance that's happening at the end of the year?" Malaysia asked.

"Yes! I already got my dress and everything." Jhonnie said.

"Same!! My dad said he was gonna get us a limo for the dance and dinner afterwards. Make it a cute date night." Symphony said and the girls cooed, except for Nilan.

"I'll see you guys later. This food is running through me." Nilan said and quickly got up to walk away. As she threw away her trash, she sighed. Hearing about the daddy daughter dance changed her whole mood and she wished they never brought it up. She was fine at school until anyone mentioned anything about a dad or some type of father figure. She felt...left out.

The end of school came quickly and Nilan was in the locker room getting dressed for practice. Well trying to get dressed for practice. Right now she was sitting on the bench crying, holding the bracelet Chris got her last year for her birthday. She thought she had lost it, but there it was...at the bottom of her duffel bag.

"Nilan? Are you okay?" Symphony asked as she walked slowly to Nilan. Nilan quickly wiped her face and turned away from Symphony.

"Yea...yea I'm fine. Just allergies." Nilan responded.

"I'm not the smartest person but...this doesn't seem like allergies. You can talk to me you know? We've known each other since 5th grade." Nilan thought for a moment.

"Well...my dad he's- he's in rehab right now and I just really miss him." Nilan said before crying again. Symphony sat beside her and embraced her.

"I'm so sorry, Nilan. I had no idea." Symphony said. "Is that why you've been a little distant lately?" Nilan nodded.

"I'm fine though. Really." Nilan wiped her face and faintly smiled.

"You're not fine and it's okay. Maybe you should tell coach and go home for today."

"No no no, I want to be here. I need to be here." Symphony sighed and nodded her head, leaving the subject alone for now.

"Okay well let's go before coach have us running the whole practice." Nilan softly chuckled and walked out the locker room and into practice.

"Alright guys! See y'all later." Nilan said before exiting the gym and walking to Zaire's car.

"Bye!" Everyone yelled and dispersed. Symphony followed their coach to her office and sat down.

"Wassup Symphony?" Coach Jones asked.

"Well...Nilan was crying in the locker room before practice today and-" she sighed, contemplating if she should say anything or not.

"Why was she crying?"

"She told me- that her dad is in rehab and she's really struggling with him being gone. She didn't want to say anything but coach- I don't know." Symphony said biting the side of her lip nervously.

"How long has he been gone?" Coach Jones asked feeling her heart getting heavy.

"I don't know, she didn't really say."

"Thank you for telling me." Symphony nodded and stood up, heading towards the door.

"Don't tell her I told you...please."

"I won't." Symphony walked out of the office and saw two other teammates standing near the office door. She waved goodbye to them and left the school.

"Sage, I'm not doing that stupid idiotic mess." Karina said on the phone while she did work on her laptop.

"Damn, why it gotta be all that? Im just trynna make you more money."

"By selling sex musk?! What type of shit is that?"

"It's a lot of weirdos in the world that'll sell they kidney for that shit. I'm telling you sis, I know what I'm talking about."

"Yea cause you one of those nasty freaked out weirdos. I remember your old Instagram stories."

"You getting off topic now."

"Nah I'm right on topic." Karina chuckled.

"You're a fucking idiot!" Nilan said and Karina quickly looked towards the door.

"Who is that doing all that cussing??" Sage said on the phone.

"Aye watch yo mouth when you talk to me." Zaire said. Karina got off the coach and quickly walked to them.

"Go to hell!!" Nilan yelled and stormed off.

"Zaire what the hell is going on with you and Nilan??" Karina asked.

"Nothing ma, she just being a moody teenager."

"A moody teenager, huh?" Karina asked and he nodded. She sighed and rubbed her temple.

"You okay?" Zaire asked.

"Yea, i'm fine. How are you? Is your mental health okay?"

"It's cool. Can I go hang with the guys? The wanna make beats and chill."

"Yea just be back by 10." Zaire smacked his lips and Karina scrunched up her face.

"Well hell I could've said no but I didn't so you know what...make it 9:30!" She fussed and walked away. "Every day I feel like i'm about to lose my patience in this got damn house." She said before closing her bedroom door.

"Just calm down before you get yourself worked up." Sage said. "You want them to come stay with me for a while? Give you a break."

"I don't know...I don't want them to feel like I'm getting rid of them. I mean what if they feel like I already shipped they daddy off now I'm doing the same to them?"

"They not going to think that, Rina."

"How do you know that?" Sage sighed.

"Okay listen, how about they stay over this weekend and come back home Monday after school?"

"Okay, text them the plan. Im about to try and rest."

"Alright sis. I love you."

"I love you too."

(Nothing too crazy...yet. How we feeling right now?)
