The email. It finally came. The thing that would decide my future forever, if I was destined to be an actress. I was already a good dancer. My high - school life was a bit drama - free & my 17th birthday was coming in 3 days. If I was chosen, my life would take a turn.

My parents, sister & family relatives were fine with my decision except that bitch : Auntie Astra.

But did it matter? No. As Nikki said, and I quote, "Be your own favorite person. No one else's opinion will matter in the end. If it does, tell them to ஃபக் ஆஃப் ( it means "fuck off" in tamil ) .

Nikki's parents scolded her after that. But she was right. If I was gonna win and be an actress , I gotta tell them to fuck off. And she was right. Auntie Astra , how's life in Canada? Coward.

Present  Day.....

A bright light was shone upon my eyes. Surprised, I forced my eyes to open and see my iMac with a Gmail message on my screen.

Great. It was probably that abusive director when I was in 1st year of History in college. He didn't beat us actually, he was verbally abusive and made us abusive towards ourselves. But when I clicked the message, I found out it was not that bitch.

It was company of traditional arts of India, if that makes sense. The email sent was this :

Dear Arundhati Krithika Shah,

As we have seen your past dances on Bharatanatym, we would like you to join our company to teach young minds the tradition of dance migrated from South India, Tamil Nadu.

If you wish to comply, our company name is Suriyan Young Minds of Indian Arts and our number is #9874-36716 . We are located in Canada, but you can do online classes.  Our email is suriyan.ymoia*gmail.com.   Classes will be on Saturday every week, except on holidays.

I read the message twice, then thrice. My eyes were probably bulging out of their sockets. This was something I would love to do my entire life till my death. But I was still busy... But I looked through again and the classes were on Saturday. I was free those days. Great, I thought with a grin on my face.

I messaged them saying I would, and they said that my job would start next month. It was January 29th today. Meh, that was fine.

While looking through TikTok on my break, I saw a email that was sent to me, turns out it was an audition casting. I was chosen. You see if you're famous and well - known in the cinema industry, you don't have to audition, they just need your permission to be in the movie/tv show and that's it.

Turns out the movie was a murder mystery called : Murder Masquerade : Almost Caught.

I love horror, comedy, romance , fantasy and my personal favorite murder. But still, LOTR will always be #1. But still, I'm so doing this. But a thought stops me : You dumbass, tell your sisters.

Obviously I'm telling them. I went on our group chat, to tell them about it before I say yes.

My fingers type out the message on WhatsApp and finally pressing send.
