After the flight back from a very short trip to Atlantic city, I had been dropped at my apartment and Natasha had taken off to god knows where.

It was late in the afternoon by the time our flight had gotten back and I wanted nothing more than to change out of the airport clothes and into my pyjamas.

I took my time in the shower letting the hot water soothe my tense muscles as my thoughts wandered off to the red head.

I sighed trying to shake the heavy weight in my chest knowing I had been ignoring certain problems relating to Natasha and I's relationship.

Don't get me wrong the sex was great but we really didn't do much talking now that I'm thinking about it.

I mean I know we've made it official but the constant secrecy of our relationship had its own burdens along with it.

I changed into an oversized sweater, quickly blow drying my hair before I decided to call it a night. Thankfully although I had lots on my mind at the moment, the long tiresome day of travel let my body take over my mind as I drifted into a deep sleep.

My problems turning into a tomorrow issue.

"Morning." I walked into the office greeting Wanda who gave me a small smile.

"I thought you and Romanoff weren't supposed to be back until another day?" She double checked the date before looking at me for an answer. "Did something happen?"

My mind drifted to the terrible run in with her father and then to a very closed off Romanoff thereafter.

"Let's just say there was a lot of business unfinished." I nod keeping my response vague really not wanting to get into it with her.

Wanda was probably my closest friend at the moment considering Ana had taken her education abroad to Europe. Which only made me feel more guilty knowing I was keeping secrets from her, I had nobody to talk to about my problems especially when it came to the topic surrounding Natasha herself.

"I should probably head up and make sure Romanoff doesn't need assistance with anything." I brush off my concern like it was nothing although the thought of her made my stomach twist in anticipation.

I ventured into the elevator like usual as the many different employees surrounded me. As my eyes wandered to the many people around me I suddenly realized I barely knew anyone here. I mean I was always surrounded by Romanoff and the few employees who started out here but the other 90% were basically strangers to me. Especially now that we've merged with the Danvers company only adding onto the number of unknown faces working here.

I walked down the long empty hall once I made it to the top floor of the building. Romanoff's floor had always been quite lonely considering it was just a few meeting rooms unoccupied, my desk right outside her office and then her office occupying the last door at the end.

An idea suddenly popped into my brain but I knew now wasn't the time to ask her of the request - so I tucked it away in the back of my mind for later.

My next movements wavered as I wasn't sure if I wanted to head into her office and check on her, or sit at my desk and avoid the woman at all costs.

I loved the girlfriend side of Natasha but when it came to the big boss Romanoff aspect she was rather intimidating.

You'd think by now I wouldn't still get nervous every-time I stepped foot into her office.

But I did.

My phone dinged as I looked down at the text, I shrugged off my coat hanging it on my chair before opening the message.
