Spiros stepped forward, his hands glowing faintly as he focused on opening a portal. Sofia stood beside him, offering a reassuring smile.

"You've got this," she said softly.

With a deep breath, Spiros conjured a shimmering oval of energy that connected them directly to the heart of the laboratory. One by one, the team stepped through, emerging in a dimly lit corridor humming with electricity and the faint scent of chemicals.

Melina studied her scanner. "Five mutant signatures, all clustered in the central chamber. Vesper's not alone."

Leonidas nodded grimly. "Stay focused and stick to the plan. Kwstas, Nikolas-you're on point. Spiros, keep our exit ready. Everyone else, disable their defenses."

The team crept forward, but just as they reached the main chamber, the lights flickered and went out.

"Well, isn't this familiar," came Vesper's chilling voice, echoing through the darkness.

The room was suddenly bathed in red light, revealing Vesper standing on a high platform, flanked by four menacing mutants.

"Get them," she commanded.

The mutants surged forward, and the fight began.

Kwstas nodded, his hands already glowing with radiant light energy. He unleashed a blinding flash, momentarily disorienting the brute and forcing him to cover his eyes.

Taking advantage of the opening, Nikolas charged, his seismic powers amplifying the force of his steps. He landed a solid punch to the brute's stomach, sending him staggering back-but not for long.

The mutant recovered quickly, letting out a roar before grabbing a massive steel beam and swinging it like a club. Nikolas barely dodged, the beam crashing into the wall with enough force to leave a crater.

"Could use a little help here!" Nikolas shouted.

Kwstas responded immediately, forming a glowing shield of light to block the brute's next swing. The energy rippled as the beam struck it, but the shield held.

"Got your back," Kwstas said, firing a concentrated beam of light at the brute's legs. The blast hit its mark, forcing the mutant to his knees.

Nikolas didn't waste the opportunity. With a thunderous roar, he slammed his fists into the ground, creating a seismic shockwave that toppled the brute completely.

But the mutant wasn't done yet. He grabbed Nikolas by the arm and hurled him into a nearby wall with terrifying strength. Kwstas's heart stopped for a moment as he saw Nikolas slump to the ground.
