The days after the factory mission were tense. Everyone was recovering physically and emotionally. Kwstas's injuries were healing well, but the incident had left scars deeper than the ones on his body. Melina's near-death experience had shaken the group, and Nikolas seemed to grow quieter with each passing day. The once unshakable rock of the team was clearly struggling.

Nikolas's Internal Struggle

Late one night, Sofia was the first to notice the muffled thudding sounds coming from the training room. Curious, she crept down the hallway and peeked inside. There was Nikolas, shirtless and drenched in sweat, slamming his fists into a concrete block he had set up against the wall. His knuckles were raw and bleeding, the concrete cracked from repeated impacts.

"Nik?" she called softly.

Nikolas stopped mid-swing, his chest heaving. He didn't turn around. "What do you want, Sofia?"

"I could ask you the same thing," she said, stepping inside. "What are you doing to yourself?"

He sighed, resting his hands on his knees. "I don't know. I just...can't stop thinking about everything. About Kwstas. About how I almost lost him. About how I keep screwing up."

Sofia frowned. "Nikolas, you're not screwing up. You're leading the team in your own way. And Kwstas..." She hesitated. "He cares about you. You know that, right?"

Nikolas nodded slowly but didn't respond. Instead, he sat down on the floor, his bruised knuckles resting on his knees. "I don't know how to deal with this, Sofia. I've spent my whole life trying to be someone I'm not. Trying to be the tough guy, the straight guy, the...whatever guy people expected me to be. And now...Kwstas...everything's changing, and I'm terrified."

Sofia sat beside him. "Change is scary. But you're not alone. Kwstas isn't going anywhere, and neither are we. You just have to let yourself believe that."

Nikolas looked at her, his eyes filled with unspoken gratitude. "Thanks, Sofia."

Melina's Power-Up

While Nikolas was grappling with his emotions, Melina was undergoing a transformation of her own. Her brush with death had awakened something dormant within her-a deeper connection to her mutant abilities.

She was in the training room with Leonidas, practicing under his supervision.

"I don't know what's happening," she said, her voice laced with frustration. "But I can feel something...more."

"Show me," Leonidas encouraged.

Melina closed her eyes and concentrated. Her usual power, an ability to generate force fields, began to manifest. But this time, it didn't stop there. The air around her shimmered with energy as the force fields expanded and changed, forming intricate, glowing patterns that hovered around her like a protective aura.

Leonidas stepped back, his eyebrows raised. "Incredible. You're not just creating barriers anymore-you're manipulating energy itself."

Melina opened her eyes, a smile spreading across her face. "I think I just leveled up."

A Quiet Evening (Spuros and Sofia's Moment)

The team decided to take a break that evening, enjoying a rare moment of peace. They gathered on the safehouse's rooftop, the city lights of Athens twinkling below them.

Spiros and Sofia sat on the edge, their legs dangling over the side. They had grown closer over the past few weeks, their easy banter and shared moments forming a bond neither had expected.

"You ever think about what life would've been like without all this mutant stuff?" Spiros asked, breaking the silence.

"Sometimes," Sofia admitted. "But then I think about how much I've learned-about myself, about all of you. I wouldn't trade that for anything."

Spiros smiled. "Me neither."

Their hands brushed as they both reached for a can of soda at the same time. The now-familiar glow returned, brighter and warmer than ever.

Sofia laughed softly. "There it is again."

Spiros looked at her, his expression serious for once. "Mayb-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Spiros leaned in, and Sofia didn't pull away. Their lips met in a soft, tentative kiss that quickly deepened, the glow from their hands enveloping them like a cocoon.

When they pulled back, they both looked a little breathless, their faces lit by the faint glow.

"Well," Spiros said, grinning. "That was... incredible"

Sofia chuckled, resting her forehead against his.

Nikolas and Kwstas: The Turning Point

Later that night, Kwstas found Nikolas sitting on the rooftop, staring at his bruised knuckles.

"You're going to break your hands if you keep doing that," Kwstas said, sitting beside him.

Nikolas glanced at him but didn't reply.

Kwstas sighed. "You can't keep shutting me out, Nick."

"I'm not shutting you out," Nikolas muttered. "I'm just...trying to figure things out."

Kwstas reached for Nikolas's hand, carefully avoiding the raw skin. "You don't have to figure it out alone. I'm here. I've always been here."

Nikolas's jaw tightened, his internal conflict written all over his face. "I don't know how to do this, Kwstas. I don't know how to...be this."

Kwstas smiled gently. "You don't have to know everything right now. Just take it"
